Jimbo working FSU boosters

Florida State offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher spent last Friday night getting his feet wet. He chatted up fans, signed whatever scraps of paper were handy and posed for countless pictures, all things a coach -- and not an assistant -- typically does at a booster club function. But then he isn't the typical assistant. Fisher's the king in waiting; the designated successor to Bobby Bowden. One day, Bowden's diverse duties will be his and Fisher's taking advantage of this time to get a feel for what that will be like.

FSU football will not be irrelevant once Jimbo takes over for the old man!

Dmitch,

let's hope so. I remember being in person watching FSU DESTROY UM back in 92, i believe, at the Big house.

FSU football is insignificant! Oh Please coming from a BIG-10 fan that is a joke. Coming from a Michigan fan is an even bigger joke. Too bad you guys went back to artificial grass. Now you can't grow the grass long when you play a good team. All Florida schools are at the top tier and will have their shots to win Nat'l championships in the next five years. Michigan won National championship in 60 years. Give me a break! If Bo Schembachler was the head coach at FSU He would've been fired!!

you my friend are an idiot! UM just beat one of your beloved Florida teams last year! FSU will be lucky to get back in the picture in five years, Miami ia on the same rebuilding path, UF is all ya got, and teams are starting to figure out Urban's offense,,so good luck with that.

May 5, 2008  02:44 PM ET

ahhh he probably got upset that we were making fun of him!

May 5, 2008  03:20 PM ET

That guy is sensitive. He screws up and takes away all the comments.

Lighten up man. It's Cinco De Mayo. Just blame it on the fact that you were celebrating the Mexicans beating Emperor Maximillian in 1862.

VIVA!!
