Credit University of Wisconsin senior Brian Butch with an assist on this recruiting coup. When Eau Claire North High School sophomore center Evan Anderson needed to chat with someone whose opinion he respects before making his college choice, Anderson phoned Butch Saturday night. "He just told me that if I thought I wanted to be at Wisconsin, which I do," Anderson said Sunday afternoon, "and I think it is the right decision just go ahead and do it instead of waiting. "That is what I did." Anderson hung up with Butch, phoned UW coach Bo Ryan. Anderson chose UW over several marquee programs, including Kansas, Kentucky and Boston College.

Wisconsin has become just as marquee as Boston College maybe more so

Report Offensive CommentHow on earth does Butch, a guy that went from top 10 overall to completely off NBA draft boards, convince a similar high school player to follow in his footsteps. Weird.

Report Offensive CommentAnderson could be a very good player if he can continue his steady development. Very happy Bo pulled him in early so he can focus on getting Jamil.

Report Offensive CommentThis kid is going to be more of a Stiesma then Butch. He already has a developed defensive game but is lacking offensively. Plays in a weak and undersized conference, but will continue to develop game. No this guy can absolutely NOT shoot 3's and I doubt he ever will.
As far as Jamil goes, he's out of the picture until somebody either gets released out of their scholarship or transfers. I have to think that Jamil is going to end up at Duke, which is a shame but he's probably one and done.
