The case involving Colts receiver Marvin Harrison took a new turn last night. According to an ESPN report, six of the bullet casings found after an April 29 shooting near Harrison's car wash and garage came from a gun that belongs to the star player. According to ESPN, police returned to the scene of the shooting to examine bullet holes in two residences after information was provided to police by an alleged third victim of the shooting. Harrison's representatives say he was not present during the shooting, and that his gun was not involved. Harrison's attorney declined comment. Police say they have no suspects in the shooting, which left two people injured.

This is an odd situation... My gut tells me that Marvin is innocent.

I agree with whodeyjb, I think Marvin is getting setup. I can't imagine this guy going out on a shooting rampage for kicks and giggles.

The possibility exists that it was his gun that was used but not necessarily by him. I'm sure the forensic experts have been all over the weapon and the police have questioned everyone who had access to it. If Lt. Columbo visits Mr. Harrison to ask just one more question, then I'd worry.

Dont worry.......Marvin hired Matlock.

This story does not fit the personality we all know from watching him on TV. I know that we do not have the whole story, but man this does not sound like him.

Just more proof that no matter what we think about the people we put on a pedestol, we don't really know them. Police have actually confirmed that it WAS Harrison's gun that was used, but they aren't sure who shot it. They also confirmed that Marvin and the guy that was shot in the hand, a guy that was just released from prison for murder, got in a fight a couple of weeks ago at Harrison's club "Playmakers". I don't know what happened, nor am i saying that he did anything wrong, but it doesn't look good.

What is th big deal? I have occasionally forgotten to pick up casings too.

May 6, 2008  07:59 AM ET

Listen, teammates don't even know Harrison that well. It is very possible he has a dark side that was exposed for the 1st time. Let the justice system play out. If he is guilty, I am sure because of who he is and the money he has he will get off with a lesser sentence than anyone of us on this post.

Dang marvin packing some heat these days!!! No wonder scores a lots of touchdowns he will be shooting safetys & corner on the way to the end zone.....touchdown marvin!!!!

May 6, 2008  08:40 AM ET

The guy owns an armor piercing hand gun . He owns a bar, among other things, in one of the worst crime areas in America..He obviously takes it to work with him. He is guilty of gross stupidity at the least, And criminally responsible for the gun.....

May 6, 2008  08:54 AM ET

Apparently, nobody knows the "real" Marvin Harrison, even his teammates. Contrary to popular thought, I don't think an overworked police department dealing with a spate of cop killings is inclined to "set up" anybody. Unless they're trying to get the Colts to release him so the Eggles can swoop in and sign him!

May 6, 2008  08:58 AM ET

The gun that was identified in news reports is a very esoteric, extremely expensive model from FN in Belgium. It is a specialty weapon made in very low quantities using a bullet designed for it. Even those familiar with the existence of this gun have never actually seen one. It's that rare.

It's going to be very hard for Harrison to play the "like my gun, but not my gun" card. Chances of two people who were in Harrison's bar and car wash both owning one is astronomical. It wasn't a Saturday Night Special. Toss in ballistics and the noose gets tighter...

OOPS...Hope the Colt's picked up some help at receiver during the draft???

May 6, 2008  09:08 AM ET

What do we really know about this guy. People witnessed this act of violence and you people believe he is innocent. Come on people this is just another example of an overpaid athlete believing he is above the law.

THAT WAS FUNNY!
Two questions: 1) How did Harrrison's gun get to the scene (possibly he keeps at the bar and someone took it).
2). If Harrison did the shooting, wouldn't the people who got shot recognize him? It's not like he's Cedric Benson (LOL)

May 6, 2008  09:17 AM ET

It has been reported that not only does he own the bar, he stand at the door and frisks clients for hand guns on the way in.....Just what is the guy thinking?..

May 6, 2008  09:19 AM ET

What the hell............is this NFL truth&rumors or is this CSI: Philadelphia?

Does it look to anyone else like the Colts are on their way to 8-8 this year?
