Michigan center to transfer
As expected, Michigan sophomore center Ekpe Udoh is transferring. Assuming he transfers to another Division I school, Udoh will have to sit out a year and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining after that. The release said Udoh has not made a decision where he will transfer. While he claimed the distance from his hometown of Edmond, Okla., was a reach, it's believed that Udoh feels he has a chance to shine at another school, enhancing his pro prospects.

This hurts an already hurting team that struggled on offense, not that Ekpe was a big scorer. But, not sure if a lateral move is going to get Ekpe to the NBA but obviously he doesn't think Beilein's system prepares one for the NBA. There might be some truth to that. Bottom line, this is a set back by losing a big guy.
Best wishes to Ekpe.

The Blue sure need their big guys, so this one hurts. Not honestly sure this is the best way to enhance pro prospects at this point given the mandatory year out...

I have watched Udoh over the last two years and he isn't NBA material; he's got the potential to be a solid college player; but not NBA caliber, horrible move. Maybe, he's upset that Bielen actually makes them work as opposed to Amaker

So where does Udoh transfer to? My guess is OSU...not that OSU but Oklahoma State U where he'll have great facilities thanks to the millions that Boone Pickens has given. Still won't get him to the NBA, imho.

It hurts but this team is a long way away, anyway.

He might go to Oklahoma seeing that Blake Griffin won't be back next year because as of now he is a sure lock for the pros.

"obviously he doesn't think Beilein's system prepares one for the NBA."
- I disagree-
the players talent & size dictates whether you are NBA material.....
Look at Duke- their 'system' is not really an NBA-type system....and they get 2 people drafted every year. It's because they usually get 2-3 blue chippers each year.
Give beiline a couple years to establish a WINNING program, then you'll be able to recruit top notch talent

Maybe, his best friend is Obi Muonelo, a starter at Ok State...and they played on the same HS team (Edmond Santa Fe).

Being a center in Beilein's system is a death sentence for any nba hopeful. Is not like they try to rebound and unless he can drain a 3 then it really doesn't matter anyway. How many centers go to the nba just for their 3 point shot?
