Clemens' son hears hecklers

As Koby Clemens travels to Carolina League stadiums from Delaware to South Carolina, he hears the hecklers. As he walks past the clubhouse TVs tuned to ESPN, he hears the commentators joking about his family. He tries to tune it out, but sometimes he'd like to yell back. "I just want people to look themselves in the mirror before they judge," Koby said. "People make mistakes. I'm not perfect. I'm sure you're not perfect. Nobody's perfect." Switching from third base to catcher should have been the most difficult part of this season for Koby Clemens.

your dad is perfect kid.... a perfect example of a lying ****

May 7, 2008  05:53 AM ET

everything is perfect when daddy is respected, now we find out he's a lying piece of ~hit and the kid can't take it?
tell daddy to take his millions, buy a ball team, and pay non heckling fans to sit in the stands or else shut up and take it. He has no one to blame but his father for this mess. if he was "holier then thou", none of this would have happened.

Oh okay so your dad makes $20 million a year for - the last 10 years - then lies to everyone. Yes, he's a man and people make mistakes, but he's a freaking jerk also and deserves to be bashed and trashed. He lied to everyone and sorry kid, your daddy didn't love your mother as much as he was making out to since he has these girlfriends, you will understand when you stop and think about it. Bunch rich freaking crybabies. That's all. Spoiled meat.

Yikes!

May 7, 2008  06:15 AM ET

You all suck. He's a kid. I'm sure all of you are perfect.

The kids should be off base.

"My name is William Roger Clemens, Former Major League Baseball Player, Pitcher for the New York Yankees, loyal servant to the true Commissioner, Bud Selig, Father to a heckled son, husband to a dope-up???d wife. I will be acquitted, in this trial... or the next."

May 7, 2008  08:41 AM ET

maybe i shouldn't have phrased it quite like that...

May 7, 2008  08:42 AM ET

Young Kobe is partly right.

Fans should get off his back. He did nothing to be heckled about.

Where he is wrong though is in thinking everybody ought to lay off his dad. His dad cashed every check fame brought him, took every freebie he could, grabbed every brass ring set before him. Now he is learning that the band wasn't free and there's a price to pay for it all.
