Judge: Henry can travel to tryouts

Posted: Wednesday May 07, 2008 06:52AM ET

Former Bengal Chris Henry will be allowed to travel to other cities in hopes of reviving his professional football career, a judge ruled Tuesday. The judge said Henry must present proof from other NFL clubs that he has a tryout before his electronic leash will be disconnected. Henry is currently on an ankle bracelet that monitors his whereabouts. The Bengals cut the wide receiver last month after Henry, 24, of downtown, was arrested and charged with assault and criminal damage in a March 31 incident.

This could be a real problem for him. Not sure he will be allowed to cross the border in to Canada.

Wow- I didn't realize he was only 24.......
It seems like we've been hearing him getting arrested for YEARS.....

I really doubt another team would pick him up so fast, since he will likely be suspended & he's not a #1-type receiver

Am I too late to make the first Dallas Cowboys crack?...................Dam...I am too late!!!

matter of time .. tick tock tick tock

Wouldn't it just be a riot if the charges were dismissed, kinda like Tank Johnson's in Arizona? I would laugh at how he was released and didn't do anything wrong!

Report Offensive Comment

i don't think a judge would let me travel out of state for a job interview ; if i was in the same situation.

Report Offensive Comment

Do they use a come along to lead him out of his steel cage??

Report Offensive Comment

Tryout for Dallas....hell, they just offered him a contract.

Report Offensive Comment

Dallas and Oakland should have an old fashion shootout to see who gets him. Marvin Harrison can MC this event...

I've got an idea for next years draft....Instead of recruiting from colleges for players, why not maximum security prisons ????

I would never have guessed age 24 based on his history; but I would give him a tryout, league minimum with conduct clauses in Oakland.

"Judge: Henry can travel to tryouts": just make sure there's no alcohol, drugs, or 16 year old girls present and he'll do fine !!!

dude, you honestly think that at this point in his crime-ridden tenure, that even if this were true all the other things he did wouldn't add up to Cincy being happy they got rid of him ? they would be nuts to even think twice about their good decision they made in this case.
