Busch: 'Grow up. That's racing'
Posted: Wednesday May 07, 2008 07:31AM ET
Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt Jr. celebrated Cinco de Mayo yesterday at Lowe's Motor Speedway with a long, hot day of testing. While Earnhardt was trying to keep his nose to the grindstone, Busch was front-and-center, not dodging the media but stating his case about his tangle with Earnhardt at Richmond on Saturday night and taking all questions. Leaving the track Saturday night "wasn't too bad," Busch said. "We were going from the infield to the motor home and there wasn't anything. "Then going from the motor home to the helipad, there were just a couple of fans yelling derogatory comments. It's nothing new to me anyway; I'm used to it. "I told them 'Grow up. That's racing.' We're racing hard, and there's a lot worse in this world than someone getting spun out in a race."

Report Offensive CommentThe beat goes on; the two drivers involved in this dustup Sat. night have put it behind them. The public just can't let it go. Amen, this is no longer news.

Report Offensive CommentThe sad part of this whole saga is this will ultimately cost JGR -- after bush-wacker is stuffed in the wall a few times, his light will finally come on ... or Gibbs will have a coach to rookie take with him!

Don't bet on it. It's like hockey in a way. One guy puts a serious hit on one of the other teams best players. That's fine, no retaliation needed right now but it is remembered. Later in the game, what do you know, golden opportunity for payback. Kyle will get his, and I hope it comes in Charlotte...twice. As for catching him to do it...there's always opportunities.

Report Offensive CommentHow is it going Tribe. Martinsville would be an easy place to dump someone. You are probably right...somewhere along the line a related payback. Sirius was stating how good this debate is for Nascar. They said Kyle could be the bad guy that lines everyone pockets.

Report Offensive CommentI don't like Kyle Busch and this incident just sealed it for me. But we can't forget about Denny Hamlin - he is the reason the whole thing happened in the first place. If the kid would have just gotten off the track when he felt the tire going none of this would have happened.
As for pay backs to Kyle & Denny - can't wait till it happens, cause I know it will - LOL

Report Offensive CommentIn the unwritten bylaws of NASCAR., one race later this season
Kyle will get a little tap on the left rear bumper and make that
nnmistakable smokey J spin into the wall and it will be even.

Report Offensive CommentI forgot to add, Kyle knows this is coming

Report Offensive CommentIf payback is the name of the game, maybe the bump at RIR was payback for Jr. punting KB last year at Kansas. Jr. did mention that the other day.

Report Offensive CommentWednesday and they still can't let this go, why can't they post a story about Joey Logano? He has his first ever Arca race Sunday at Rockingham, leads about 300 or 321 laps, wins by half a straightaway and no one notices.
Two weeks from Saturday when he turns 18 and has his first Nationwide race you'll be seeing Mr. Stewarts replacement.
Hammered_everynight | 05/07/08, 11:25 AM
Report Offensive CommentThe kid is good, no arguement there. The level of competition last week in Arca was a little different than he will see Nationwide. He was also driving a Cup car and had much more money behind him than others in the race.

Report Offensive CommentThis punk likens himself to when earnhardt sr, gordon, jimmie johnson, rusty wallace, and darrel waltrip being booed in their career. Well, Kyle, the only difference is that all of those drivers had fans too...you don't!!!

Report Offensive CommentI think maybe T&R paid Bush to take Junior out so they could another week's worth of posts out of it.
