The nagging injuries that sidetracked and sidelined Tracy McGrady at times during the season will factor into his offseason. McGrady on Tuesday underwent arthroscopic surgeries to remove loose bodies from his knee and shoulder and to repair a slightly torn labrum in the shoulder. He is expected to need three months to be fully recovered, though he can begin rehabilitation in the next week or two. Rockets team doctor Tom Clanton said no structural damage was found in the ligament or cartilage of McGrady's left knee.

This will bring haters out, talking about 1st round exits. Hopefully the injuries will not be an issue for next year. It does show the heart he brought to the franchise......

The Rockets have had many injuries the past couple years, and that's what's kept them from getting past the first round of the playoffs.
By the way, if you take the letters from "ROCKETS", you can scramble them to get "STOCKER".

Didn't know Yao called him soft? Missed that one, but if it is true Yao should probably look in the mirror and stand up to China and skip the olympics... His lively hood, and his loyalty should be to doing whats right for his team... the Rockets

"It does show the heart he brought to the franchise......"

come again?
- what is your definiton of heart?
don't you have to TRY and play defense to be considered to have heart?

Hopefully the Rockets can make a comeback next year because I don't see the other Texas teams improving any time soon. Of course, Houston is going to have to worry about GSW and Portland trying to make the playoffs.

Houston suffers another first round loss....but wait....what about next season? San Antonio is most likely coming to the end of their dynasty while the Dallas Mavericks franchise has hardly proven itself. If Houston can make one or two solid acquisitions, they should challenge for the top spot in the SW division with New Orleans. Next year could be the breakout year. Portland will need one more year before they are playoff-ready, while Golden State is looking to rebuild as Baron Davis is most likely going to be traded (maybe to Houston?!?!?!?)

I expect the Rockets to rocket to the top next year.

I think T-Mac is a good ball player but he just isn't a winner.

May 7, 2008  11:31 AM ET

McGrady isn't a clutch player such as Larry Bird, MJ or Magic. Those players never used injuries or other excuses to explain their inability to win. Kobe is the closest thing we will see to Jordan for a while.

I really think it's time to put him down!

May 7, 2008  01:41 PM ET

I despise the Rockets, I do not despise T-Mac. I hope that next year he can stay healthy and help Houston earn 1st round home court adv. so that maybe he can advance to the second round.

McGrady is the laziest superstar in the league.. No heart.. Doesnt condition himself.. Always sitting out when he feels a little pain..

Without Yao, the Rockets are nothing.. But with him, next year theyll be really tough..

Eli Eli Eli
What am I going to do with you bro?

May 7, 2008  07:30 PM ET

I don't see any of the Texas teams doing as well as they did this season. Also you must be dreaming if you think the Warriors are gonna ship Baron to the Rockets for anything less than T-Mac himself.
