Randy Couture talks 'banned brand,' more

MMA legend Randy Couture finds himself in a strange position these days. An ongoing legal battle with the UFC threatens his future as a fighter, and his affiliation with clothier-turned-MMA promoter Affliction has prompted the UFC to keep him and the "banned brand" off any of their broadcasts. Recently Couture talked with Cage Potato about his life as a fighter, the future of MMA, and this summer's Fedor-Sylvia bout.

Go away. Do you need Chuck to give you another beating?

Report Offensive CommentThis guy is an icon in the sport - likely the best to ever do it, though I guess that's arguable. The UFC - and Dana White in particular - need to figure out a way to get him back in the fold, sooner rather than later. Putting together the Couture/Fedor fight would be the biggest main event in their history!

Report Offensive CommentRandy has stated unequivocally that he will not fight again for the UFC under any circumstances. Fedor/Randy will not happen in the UFC.

Report Offensive CommentIf he waits much longer, then he's going to be retired because of his age. I think he is a great fighter, but he's not getting any yoounger.

Report Offensive CommentRandy can say he wouldn't fight for UFC anymore, but lets be real if they signed Fedor he would be right back in the fold with them. On that note though UFC needs to come off of their high horse and sign Fedor to a contract that doesn't restrict him from fighting elseware if he so chooses. Put some kind of stipulation in his contract that says his trunks or gloves or something has to have the UFC logo on them if he isn't fighting for UFC that way they are still getting their publicity no matter where he fights its simple.

Report Offensive CommentI think UFC did the right thing for banning affliction shirts (besides they look like CR@P) Do you think affliction would let Fedor or Tim Sylvia walk out to the ring in their pay per view debut wearing a UFC or IFL or EXC shirt? Duh. It is good business. I've never seen an add for a whopper on Mcdonald's marquee sign
