Chamberlin's dancing looks really pathetic given that he hasn't really accomplished anything yet. His era is over 3.00, he is really protected in the way he is used, and is nothing more than a middle reliever. He throws hard, I get it. David Aardsma throws just as hard, but doesn't dance like he won the World Series whenever he gets an out. Wow, he got an out in a 3 run game that brings them back to being a .500 team. Looks like the standards in NY are getting lower by the day.

Christ. Do we want robots out there or do we want guys to get excited and get the fans excited?

When a hitter goes through his antics slowly rounding the bases after a home run or standing at the plate staring at the ball when he knows it is going out of a park, is that ok?
The whole incident was nothing, and it happens all the time in sports. This is not even worthy of being posted by T&R.

How was his outing against Cleveland last year, in the playoffs, when it mattered? Oh, if you blame bugs, remember, Cleveland had to deal with them as well. Let's see him do ANYTHING in a big game before you Yankee fans put him in the HOF.

Oh, one more thing, a real professional, when they accomplish something, act like they've been there before.

Almost forgot, your alleged "greatest middle reliever ever", as it would seem, finds it ok to throw at other players' heads. I guess I forgot that in order for him to act like a professional, he would need to be a professional. Maybe my standards are higher than Yankee standards.

So it's okay for hitters to stand and stare at a home run, do a little spin or slowly walk to first but it's not okay for a pitcher to celebrate?

Funny, a couple weeks ago when the Yanks were in Cleveland CC Sabathia got a key strikeout late in the game and did the same thing... I don't remember an uproar about it. Maybe David Delucci should think a little more about his "double standard" comment before he shoots off his mouth. Sounds like he has a short memory to me...

Agreed Yankee64... I feel the same way. They waste so much energy hating the Yankees. If half of them would spend their time and money supporting their own team, maybe their teams would be more successful. I typically don't worry about the Red Sox, but I also find it amusing that I very rarely hear anyone say similar things about them even though at a minimum they are "Evil Empire Version 2.0".

They are certainly Evil Empire 2.0, loaded with expensive free agents. And that's fine. I have plenty of friends here who are Red Sox fans, but not haters.

The haters are different...saying "Yankees" in front of them is like waving a stick in front of a dog. They start drooling and barking, even if there's nothing to chase. It's hysterical.

David Delucci really isn't the guy who should making these comments. Granted, the "incindent" happened after a Delucci strikeout, but he really isn't a guy who should be talking like this, vet or not. As far as what he said, he's correct. Joba hasn't done anything yet. He's actually looked pretty average of late. Other pitchers do it, but they are generally guys who have pitched at a high level for a period of time, not guys who are in their second year in the league. If a second year guy started trotting a la Manny Ramirez (who also looks like a **** doing it most of the time) after a meaningless home run, the same thing would be said, and the pitcher would be throwing at the guy his next time up.

Another thing I just thought of while looking at the team oriented article links in this T&R. Cliff Lee is a GREAT example. Here is a guy who has had some success at the Major League level, and is pitching lights out right now. How does he react to a strikeout? In the couple of games I've seen him pitch (both outstanding), he sprints right off of the field in similar situations. Just a thought.

I could understand a pitcher showing some emotion for getting a "key strikeout." Joba had a three run lead and got a strikeout for a third out with no one on -- not so key -- and seemed to go pretty nuts. It doesn't bother me, I just think it looks silly. Then again, it's pretty apparent that Joba was just lashing out because Delucci ate his **** lunch on Tuesday.
