The Rangers finished a winning road trip through the AL West on Thursday night. That came on the heels of a winning homestand. And still general manager Jon Daniels couldn't escape the issue of manager Ron Washington's job security. In response to a blog post on the Dallas Observer's Web site that, citing unnamed sources, said the Rangers have already decided to change managers, Daniels said the topic is not an "active conversation." He said it wouldn't be revisited until the All-Star break -- at the earliest. He said the story was full of inaccuracies, but declined to discuss those inaccuracies.

Guess pressure will be on now..

Fire Washington, Daniels, Hicks, and let Ryan take over. He'll make the team into a bunch of winners.

The Rangers will fire him when/if they want. People need to step off about it.

Instead of changing managers every couple of years, why not try bringing in REAL pitchers that can actually WIN games.

A guy who knows a guy who ran into a feller that used to work with someone's 3rd cousin thrice removed told me Washington's day are numbered.

There's a hit out on him, too.

No **** Field Marshall. All that's missing is him wearing some pimp suit and a cool menthol hanging out of his mouth.

Any guy who looks like Steve Jeltz should have never been hired in the first place.

May 9, 2008  04:19 PM ET

Or Otis Nixon for that matter.

Rumor has it that Donald Trump has just entered the stadium !!!

May 9, 2008  09:06 PM ET

This poor **** never had a chance. He looks like a crack dealer, and could probably go down to the ghetto and get some crack dealers that could outpitch his current rotation.

I am so thankfull the Washington era is coming to an end. Rangers have got to add more speed to go along with Kinsler at 2B...and the only place to do that is at SS or CF, I do like Bradley, Hamilton and Murphy in OF, but I think now is the time to trade Young...This team needs speed and fire....I'd like to see them go after Will Clark in some role with this teams management...whose intensity got them to the playoffs years ago...he's working in the Diamondbacks front office these days....

maybe the platform aquarium shoes like Huggy Bear --- Field Marshall Sunny Day

You're not so bad you've seen "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka" or were in it, lol.

If I were Hicks I'd fire Daniels first (and then hire me because I've called a lot of his moves "Bozoesque") and then I'd give Washington until the end of this season before I'd make a move on that end.

I personally thought Don Wakamatsu should've been given the job.
