Milan eyes PSV Eindhoven goalie

PSV Eindhoven number one Heurelho Gomes has emerged as Milan's top goalkeeping target this summer, according to Tuttosport. The disaster-prone Nelson Dida will certainly be sold if a buyer can be found, while current number one Zeljko Kalac is likely to revert to his old role as backup. A whole host of goalkeepers have been linked with a move to San Siro, including Sebastien Frey, Alexander Doni, and Celtic's Artur Boruc.

Gomes is way overrated according to me. He's like a Dida Jr. same strenghtes and same weaknesses... He's known to have bad streaks such as Dida's known recently...
S??bastien Frey is the safest pick for Milan...

Report Offensive CommentFrey is clearly above Gomes. not sure if he'll leave a resurging La Viola tho...

Report Offensive CommentFrey isn't going anywhere unless Milan dump a ton of money at Fiorentina. Doni I can see, but I doubt Milan will be able to shell out the cash. Boruc is a good bet and I guess Gomes. Gomes is ok, but I'd rather have Boruc.
We can all agree that Dida sucks though.

Report Offensive CommentFrey or Boruc are the two best in that group. Frey may not want to leave Florence, but i can see Boruc wanting to take the next step.

Report Offensive CommentFrey would fit nicely, but I think we're overlooking Kalac. He's very underrated and one of this season's best keepers from any league. He should remain #1 until he messes it up.

Report Offensive CommentI don't know if any of you saw the PSV-Tottenham Penalty shootout in the Final 16 of the Uefa Cup this season, but Gomes was the sole reason that PSV progressed.
I believe he had two saves in the PK shootout, which was big bc he was facing another tough keeper in Paul Robinson, who had a clean sheet going that night.
Tottenham's goal that drew level with them that game came from Berbatov, but his shot was perfect and no keeper in the world could have stopped it. Straight into the corner.
Anways, my point is that in the only game I've seen him play, Gomes was phenomonal. Would be a great aquisition.
Boruc won't leave Celtic (I hope). He just signed a 3 yr extension to stay at Parkhead in January, making it more unlikely that he'll be transfered.
Frey and Doni are also great GK's, and since both play in Serie A already they're prolly the two I'd put my money on.

Report Offensive CommentI say Milan should try to get Ochoa from America. Young, excellent judgement & reflexes. Frey is getting old, Brauk is untested playing in SPL and Doni is the same mold as most other Brazilian goalkeepers, exdept for Julio Cesar maybe.

Report Offensive CommentGomes is a joke except on th penalty shootout. S??bastien Frey and Hugo Lloris (Nice) are 1st class goalkeeper but not Gomes.
