Why Bobcats fired Bickerstaff
Posted: Friday May 09, 2008 05:41AM ET
Bobcats executive Bernie Bickerstaff, rendered extraneous by Larry Brown's hiring as coach, was terminated yesterday, The Post has learned. He has one guaranteed year at $1 million left on his contract. A head coach and GM for several NBA teams, including the Bobcats, has been mentioned by many as a genuine contender for the Knicks' GM job and as a sideline mentor for Mark Jackson should he become Isiah Thomas' successor.

Report Offensive CommentThat is sad news. Over the few short years, Bernie has been the only bright spot leading the Bobcats. Johnson and Jordan clearly have fumbled, and Bernie was able to keep a team competitive that should not have been. Horrible and very sad news.

They beat the Lakers at the Staples Center. Not that that turned out to be a big deal, just thought Lakers' haters would appreciate a woody!
How about that East? Celtics and Cavs have scored in two games, just slightly higher than one West match up! Billips has come up lame and has to be put down. The only hope the East has is the Magic, and that's hoping!

Those stats are misleading. Det. and Boston had the top 2 scoring defense this season. The Lakers were 19 and Utah was 13th. Cleveland was 9th. I'll admit the Lakers have looked the best so far, but we'll see.
