Dave Meltzer is reporting on the Wrestling Observer website that Bobby Lashley's non-compete clause with World Wrestling Entertainment ended yesterday. Many readers of this site are hardcore MMA fans who hate it when pro wrestling and MMA coverage cross paths, but the undeniable truth is that Lashley could be an impact player in MMA, should he choose to go down that path.

Yea Undertaker used the gogopalata as a secondary finisher, and also hes been using the triangle choke for years. But Bobby considering that he has a background in kickboxing and wrestling, whether amateur or pro, could do some things, he's said he doesn't want to be in the UFC just wants to follow a dream, and considering he doesn't need the money he could definitely done that.

Keep laughing, but the heavyweight division will be revolutionized as these incredibly athletic behemoths cross-over to MMA. Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar were both collegiate national champion wrestlers who easily top 260 pounds. With a little experience under their belts, they'll be dominating the scene whether you like it or not.

I have to agree with the Experience. As MMA starts getting bigger it will start pulling in the bigger fish. Previously if you were a big guy with grappling skills the only place for you to make decent money was in wrestling. Now as MMA grows you're going to see these wrestlers migrate to the octagon. You have to be a tough SOB to pull off a modern 300 night a year schedule that wrestling puts its people through.
