Nolan talks of Washington's future

Posted: Saturday May 10, 2008 08:46AM ET

Rangers president Nolan Ryan said he's pleased with how the team played on its recent trip and hopes speculation about manager Ron Washington's job security will end. Ryan echoed Thursday's comments by general manger Jon Daniels that Washington's job is secure and that if his status is reviewed, it wouldn't happen before the All-Star break. I'm of the mind-set right now that Ron's our manager, he's doing a good job, we're happy with the way the ballclub is performing," Ryan said. "No meetings are scheduled, and I don't anticipate any being scheduled unless we have circumstances that dictate that."
