Spurs: Duncan needs rest

The Spurs hope another two days off between Games 3 and 4 of their Western Conference semifinals series against the Hornets will help All-Star power forward Tim Duncan reach full strength for Sunday's game. He's spent most of the past week battling high fever and flu-like symptoms. Duncan was examined by team doctors before tipoff for Thursday's game at AT&T Center. While his fever then was back to normal, several days spent battling the affliction appeared to have affected his play in the first two games, especially in Game 1.

Suck it up cry baby!!

May 10, 2008  09:46 AM ET

So do I. Has been a long week..

May 10, 2008  10:16 AM ET

Duncan and the Spurs are the defending champs. If the Hornets want to win a title, they're going to have to earn it. Tim will be ready to play.

May 10, 2008  10:48 AM ET

Good, I'm tired of seeing them winning and nobody caring.

May 10, 2008  11:31 AM ET

Spurs will win the finals this year!

May 10, 2008  11:44 AM ET

Other players sit out when they get a hangnail. Duncan is sick and doesn't say a word about it or make excuses, but still gets beat up by people. "People" being the fans of the teams he beats. Ahh, the life of a CHAMPION!
Go Spurs Go! ! !

May 10, 2008  12:02 PM ET

he better be coz game4 is must win for them.. and i cant see them winning the series without a 100% duncan. CP3's been close to unstoppable in the playoffs

May 10, 2008  12:03 PM ET

When u r the king of flopping like Duncan is ur bound 2 either get burnt out or get injured you saw what happened to Mr Big Flop Billups.

"Spurs: Duncan needs rest"

Most old people do!

May 10, 2008  12:35 PM ET

Love him

But he is getting old

May 10, 2008  12:42 PM ET

With FOUR NBA Championships in his career and multiple MVP's every team wishes Duncan was on their team. Maybe not the fans 'cause he's kicking their team out of contention, but every GM or coach wishes he had Duncan. And who's writing these posts? Fans of beaten teams, not the GM's or coaches. The only time you hear them saying anything negative is when he's beating their teams and they're trying to get into his head and screw him up so their team will win. Like I said, every GM or coach wishes he had Duncan. BUT WE GOT 'EM!
GO SPURS GO! ! !

May 10, 2008  12:46 PM ET

The Spurs will win the series 4-2, but Chris Paul is the truth.
GO SPURS GO!!

May 10, 2008  12:49 PM ET

suck it up crybaby! this is the NBA not the WNBA

May 10, 2008  01:28 PM ET

I don't care if he's sick or not, his play would not of affected the way Chris Paul destroyed them. If Parker can't duplicate game three this thing is over.

May 10, 2008  02:00 PM ET

Yeah, he is getting older, but how many of you FN guys are playing for a potential NBA championship team, or are you just parked in front of your grubby keyboard, overweight, wearing your outgrown t-shirt advertising some jackass Nascar bs, swilling your can of cheap beer, glaring at Duncan, wishing you were him? Have some respect, he's going into Springfield, where are you going? To the refrigerator for another beer. No doubt.

By the way, WNBA players stay on the floor until they go out on a stretcher, they are looking for the ball, not their chair, towel and little papercup of Gatorade, their reward for staying in the game for three whole minutes and making an assist. They are not pampered NBA babies.

Go Spurs Go! Rally around NBA's Gentlemen's Team of Americas. All the other teams should follow like the Spurs or go home in shame!

May 10, 2008  02:21 PM ET

Like Rudy T. would say "....never underestimate the heart of a champion." Tim Duncan is the class of the NBA and all of you cynics know it!!

May 10, 2008  02:24 PM ET
