Schools pursuing Perrilloux
Posted: Saturday May 10, 2008 09:17AM ET
Count Jackson State in on the Ryan Perrilloux sweepstakes. Coach Rick Comegy said he is attempting to lure the dismissed LSU quarterback to campus for a visit in hopes of signing the troubled player. Perrilloux could play right away if he decides to transfer to a Football Championship Subdivision team. Perrilloux is expected to finish the spring semester at LSU so he can remain eligible to play next season. Published reports say Alabama A&M and Valdosta State also are chasing Perrilloux and Jacksonville State coach Jack Crowe has told The Associated Press he's pursuing the former top prospect.

If Ryan is smart, he'll go to App St and play for them. Cuz remember, App St is playing LSU this season! Hubba hubba hubba...

Report Offensive CommentHere's hoping this kid can turn his life around while there's still time. Miles did the right thing, no doubt. In the long run, he may end up thanking Miles for the boot, which served as a wake-up call. Maybe he'll do it in an App St. uniform after the game this season after LSU is upset by Perrilloux's new team...

Report Offensive CommentRhett Bomar did it. Why can't he? Bomar will be drafted in the 2009 NFL Draft. Perrilloux could revive his playing career.

Report Offensive CommentWhoever thinks its an appealing match up for this kid to go to App. State and play against LSU is an idiot. You are basically saying that Perilloux is in the right and he should "show up" his old team. This isn't like he was a one time offender and Miles was irrational. Perilloux is a head case and was given plenty of chances to correct his character issues. I hate to see what ethical values your children get from you, jackass.

Report Offensive CommentI hope this kid gets it together and doesn't end up as Maurice Clarett part Two.

Report Offensive CommentArmani Edwards is a heck of a player too (on Appy St.'s team), and Ryan would be wasting a year there anyways.

Report Offensive CommentI'm going to keep a running tab of the seemingly top stories on this site. I'll keep up with Charlie Weis, a story w/ Urban Meyer's picture, the BCS, Michigan/Rodriguez, WVU's closure, Perrilloux (I bet this one will die down though), USC, or UGA.
Perrilloux count: 2

Report Offensive CommentThis guy has athletic ability to burn, and like most 20 year old men, zero common sense. I hope what ever program he goes to makes him earn his spot on the team. His sense of "entitlement" for being a part of a National Championship program is what got him to this point in the first place.

Report Offensive CommentIt won't matter .. Columbus State, Valdosta, Jackson, blah blah - hell if you can't make it at LSU where Miles is running the show AND I'm sure that's "a toughy" - you'll fail elsewhere too!

Report Offensive CommentThe Warden, Appalachian State already has ONE incredible QB so that would not be a good choice at all.

Taylor G. Moore | 05/11/08, 12:26 PM
Report Offensive CommentWhy would App St want him? They don't have a need at his position. The QB they had this season was a sophomore. Why add controversy to a program that has won a lot of big games and national titles in the past few seasons. He ability is not worth the disruption to the program.

Report Offensive CommentRyan needs to go far away from Baton Rouge where he doesn't know anyone.
Blah, why is Perrilloux even news worthy anymore? He wasted a golden opportunity, and hasnt proven squat on the field.

Report Offensive CommentRP is another VIck even same characteristics, and style of play. Both will be playing for the Championship in jail*** if they dont straighten out.

Just because App State swiped Michigan's testicles, does not mean they can do it to a REAL football team!
