Kevin Gilbride recently told Jeremy Shockey he wants him back as a featured part of his offense. But the Giants' offensive coordinator admitted he doesn't know if that will happen. "It's so nebulous right now, you just have no idea," Gilbride said. "Right now he's on our team. We're planning on him being there. He'll be one of the guys that we'll look to feature and one of the guys that we'll look to depend on. Hopefully he'll be here in good spirits and ready to do the things that we know he's capable of doing. But who knows? It's certainly beyond my hands."

First...get rid of him,he is a cancer for a team that just won the SuperBowl based on teamwork, good camaraderie and hard work.He is talented but too selfish.

May 11, 2008  08:56 AM ET

He needs a hug.

May 11, 2008  09:01 AM ET

It's funny hearing a Laker fan talk about selfish.

Just split Shockey out and throw him some balls. Sit him down and make sure he understands that he can't show up Manning...especially when works out solo in Miami and not on his chemistry with the QB. Some of the interceptions that were meant for him were not Mannning's fault. Shockey's looking in and the ball is thrown out...it's a chemistry thing that needs work. Shockey has thus far failed to put in the work. That needs to change...don't trade the guy, he's great. And I dare anyone who thinks otherwise to compare his stats with Tony Gonzalez. Shockey has played half the games and therefore has half the stats. Look it up. All the people who say to get rid of him are not Giants fans.

:rubs the magic 8-ball:

Jeremy Shockey says something to embarrass the Giants by week 4, 8 to 1. By week 8, 2 to 1.

May 11, 2008  09:40 AM ET

If Shockey stays it will have to be Eli that puts him in his place. He's too talented to cut loose.

Let me tell you, if he were here, Peyton would have had him in step a long time ago, or he would be gone. Peyton takes no **** from anybody. Eli had better assert himself.

He drops too many passes when he needs to be clutch. I'm a Giants fan.
He could be one of the greats ... up to him.

May 11, 2008  11:15 AM ET

I like that Shockey is pissed off. Imagine a po'ed Shockey running over people.

Just curious Magic Ball, what was your prediction last year?

May 11, 2008  12:20 PM ET

I think they should get rid of him! Kevin Boss and Eli seemed to hook up nicely last season and Shockey demands the ball too much from Eli and is too self centred in my opinion!!

May 11, 2008  01:16 PM ET

The fact is Shock is under contract and it makes no sense to turn a strength on the team into a liabilty. He has never came out and said trade me. And imagine how tough it will be for defenses when the Giants line up in two TE sets. By the way Shock isnt a cancer. TO is a cancer, Chad is a cancer, Shock is just vocal.

May 11, 2008  01:40 PM ET

actually Shockey did ask for a new role or a trade,

as for the cancer thing. if you are ok with your shock's occasional foot in mouth comments that appear in the papers, there's no reason to be embarrassed by him or consider him a cancer.

Shockey's unsure of Shockey's future, too.

Jeremy Shockey wants to play in the Land of Sky Blue Waters. But the Giants' offensive coordinator admitted he doesn't know if he can bait a hook or navigate a 10-horse through the Land of Sky Bue Waters. What will happen?

We shall see!!

I have been waiting for hours!!!!!!!

May 11, 2008  05:22 PM ET

I say give Shockey what he wants. Let him have a trade. Send him to the Jets. Let him be a cancer on another team and still have to answer to those "vocal" fans in New York. And nope Im not a fan of the Jets or Giants. Would just be funny as ****.

May 11, 2008  07:57 PM ET

He is not going anywhere..No one has offered fair market value and Reese will not be cornered by any player. The Giants won despite his absence last year, not because of it. Smith became healthy in week 15 and took up some of the pass catching difference, and Boss played yeoman like in Shockeys absence.
They should drop the stories on this guy, you people fall for it every time.. He is under contract, productive and only 26/27. No first round offer, no trade...A middle second round pic was a laughable offer and justly turned down..
