Billups sets hopes on Game 5
Posted: Sunday May 11, 2008 08:53AM ET
Now hopes turn toward Game 5. With two days off before Tuesday's series-clinching opportunity, there's a chance Chauncey Billups could return after missing one game. "With the progress I've made up to this point, it at least makes me feel good that I have another three days," Billups said. "Hopefully. But we'll see. That's what I'm shooting for though." Billups was injured four minutes into Game 3. His absence Saturday ended a string of 92 consecutive playoff games. "It's the worst," Billups said. "I've been in a bad mood for three days. ... But it's part of the game. I just hate that it's right now. Hopefully, I'll just keep getting better."

Report Offensive CommentUp 3-1 and going to play the next game at home. They should probably give him one more day of rest if he needs more time to heal.

Report Offensive CommentI agree Turtles, give him the rest, or at least limit his minutes. They'll need him if the series goes longer or for the next round.

Report Offensive CommentAgree, Turtles. Sit him again. Why play him with a 3-1 lead, esp. when Detroit just won without him?

Report Offensive CommentTime to find out what Chauncey is made of.
All along, he has been respected as a durable, tough player.
Now it's time for him to prove it by not needing to sit out more than one game.
Mr.Billups - take your one game off and relax, rest, and recover. Then get your rump back on the floor. Oops - I didn't mean that literally - hehe. I meant, get yourself back into the game.
Other players, like Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant, are playing through injuries and fevers. Since you are a champion-caliber player, you should do the same.

Report Offensive Commentwow, jl...so for the sake of making people like you think he's a tough guy, he should suck it up and get back into the game? Oh, and like Kobe with his major back pains, who ended up scoring 5 points in their ot loss? I mean im sure he COULD do that or with a very comfortable 3-1 series lead take more time to fully recover, and be more effective..timmy and kobes, don't have the luxury of being up 3 games to 1 in thier series, if they were, im sure they wouldn't rush coming back

Report Offensive CommentHmm... Ronious - I guess you are correct!
Yes, that's a very good point. Since the Pistons are up 3-1, they can keep him out for 2 games and allow him more time to recover.
They may even end up winning the series without needing him, in which case he can rest for the first game of the NEXT series as well.
If this series goes to game 7, then he can return for that game.
Good point.

Report Offensive CommentRest, rest, rest!!! That's all he needs to do. The Magic are done! Especially after Jameer Nelson guaranteed victory for game 5. Dumb boy!!! Why give a team that is your superior, at home, up 3-1, that kind of firepower? Perhaps he'll learn in time to shut his trap. I'll make a guarantee... Pistons in 5. Take it to the bank.

Report Offensive CommentAfter watching ball since i was 8 there is 1 thing i have noticed about the spurs & the pistons.
There stars representive FNF which stands for Flop n Foul thats all they do & its getting a bit rediculous that these guys get so much sissy calls over crap Billups is not Mr Big Shot he is Mr. Big Flop! Now all the big four pistons flop especially that big teeth idot Flopilton or Hamilflopton.
the dEE of dees | 05/12/08, 10:26 AM
Report Offensive CommentFirst of all Mr. dEE of dees, every team in the NBA has floppers, including your team, whoever they are. I would think the Pistons flop less than most of the teams. Dirk is King of the Flop as is Iverson. Most of the people that are considered floppers are stars. The pistons are on the receiving end of bad calls most of the time because they're players aren't considered superstars. Perhaps you're not a fan of the Pistons and Spurs because one or both are always in the Conference Finals or the Finals. Either way, they're the two most consistent teams in the NBA.
