Chelsea manager to jump ship
Chelsea manager Avram Grant is thought to be considering leaving Chelsea in the summer, before the club has the chance to sack him. Grant, whose future at the club has been subject to huge speculation, has apparently refused to discuss his future at the club leading to suggestions that he may simply walk away at the end of the season.

He did an admirable job coaching Chelsea, but I think he deserves to move on to a club with out so much unfair pressure.

Especially after Mourinho's dismal start at the beginning of the season, 11 points from 6 matches. Some say he needs to win the CL to save his job, idk

Yeah, he did to a good job at Chelsea.
But Abramovich wants beautiful soccer, not another Mourinho imitation. I still don't get football sometimes when you consider some of the decisions made. Like Madrid firing Del Bosque after 2 La Liga and CL's in a four year period.

I think he has done a decent job with Chelsea, but Chelsea has to move on. He did an admirable job filling in for the Special One, but simply isn't smart enough to manage a club of Chelsea's stature. They should try and bring in Frank Rijkaard who's leaving Barcelona this summer.

I agree Rijkaard could be the key to getting Lamps to stay

tno721: in what way is he not smart enough? He took a team that was in the tank and brought them level with United on the final weekend; AND he brought them to the CL final, something Mourinho NEVER did with Chelski...oh and he did it with less talent than 'The Special One' ever had.
All of this crap about him not being qualified is junk. It's just hype from England because they feel it lessens the 'glory' of the Prem if some dude from Israel can step in an coach a team into title contention.
I hope he wins CL and walks on those ingrates.
Oh and Rijkaard being brought in for beautiful football is only 1/2 of the equation. He needs more players capable of playing beautiful football. Frank Lampard doesn't come to mind when I think of gorgeous expansive football that Rijkaard is known for.

He has to leave. He hasn't done anything wrong but Chelsea fans will never have him be an acceptable successor to Mourinho.
Avram Grant needs to go to a club on a smaller level, or possibly look to go back into managing a national side. Remember he is the fomer Israeli Head Coach.

Rijkaard? who destroyed Barcelona over the last two years?
Certainly not.

Rijkaard? A guy who actually thought that creating Los Galacticos v.2 would work? Sorry no thanks. Avram Grant should do his best to win the UCL final and secure a contract extension. By winning the title, Chelsea will finally gain the worldwide validation it has deserved ever since Mourinho took over. Where would Grant go? Back to Israel? He isn't a very marketable personality, despite adoration from players like John Terry. But Rijkaard needs to move from the highest profile job to something with a bit less pressure. Perhaps back to The Netherlands. If Mancini blows the Serie A title, I could see him being sacked and Rijkaard taking over at Inter Milan.

eh, I don't know if Rijkaard is the answer. He seems to lack Balls in my opinion.

It's real easy to blame Barcelona's bad form on the manager, Rijkaard. But what has he really done wrong? He finished runner up in La Liga his first season, then won back-to-back titles the next two years. Add a Champions League title to that, along with another runner-up finish in the league in 2006/2007, and you have a pretty damn good resume in my opinion. Yes, this season has been tough for Barcelona...but...
Injuries, my friends, injuries. Messi, the past two years has been injured in crucial parts of the season. Eto'o as well. Ronaldinho as well...rag Ronaldinho all you want (i won't), but he is a pretty damn big part of that team.
If Rijkaard can handle Ronaldinho for the most part and all the exposure with Messi, etc., what trouble would he have at Chelsea?

I cant believe that anyone thinks its Frank's fault Barca blew this season he has proven he can handle all those ego's in the locker

The last two comments hit the nail on the head. Rijkaard like Grant did nothing wrong on the pitch. Both of their problems came off the pitch. For Grant it was trying to live up to Chelsea fan's expectations, and the fact that he is not Mourinho. For Rijkaard it was injuries and egos.
I think Frank would do well with Chelsea. He is that big name, and Chelsea, despite of Abramovich's spending, isn't exactly trying to build the Galacticos. They have names and role players which is a great combination.

Seriously, Rijkaard did win the champions league and has 2 la liga titles, theres nothing wrong with him, he just had way too many stars to mend together, it was the boards fault for wanting all these players.
At least chelski have chemistry, but of course lamps doesn't really play beautiful football, he needs his kind of players
i think he would be solid

Perhaps a new situation would be good for him, but seeing how he looked on the sidelines during the games against MANU, He looked defeated. Before MANU was even on the scoreboard. Not sure he could handle the Prem.

Rijkaard would be a disaster. He won FOUR matches away from the Camp Nou this season in La Liga. Grant has proven to be a very sound manager, and definitely deserves to coach for a full season with fewer distractions and no Cup of Nations.
