PGA's first $1 million runner-up

Paul Goydos bogeyed the 72nd hole before plunking his tee shot in the water on the first playoff hole - the 17th - to settle for second place and the $1,026,000 prize that goes with it. One of the firsts is that the money is the first million-dollar runner-up check in PGA Tour history.

Not sure it was a gag job. I believe the wind picked up just as he swung/hit the ball and knocked the ball down. Of course, Paul should have made sure he had enough club to reach the middle of the green. I would have thought that after all these years the pros would learn to hit a knock-down 9 iron with low trajectory and spin.
