Eagles still shopping for WR?
Posted: Monday May 12, 2008 06:47AM ET
If the Eagles' supposed interest in Randy Moss and Larry Fitzgerald was sincere, it's no secret it feels it needs a more viable threat in the passing game than what is on the current roster. Forget Chad Johnson. The Bengals are playing hardball with him and are not going to deal him and he may be as much trouble as he is worth, and he's worth plenty. Detroit's Roy Williams should be the target. His quotes this past week in which he admitted he thought he was going to be traded before, or during, the draft, speaks volumes. One veteran, who will remain nameless at this time, told me last week his agent told him he could be part of a trade package with Lito Sheppard. So something could still be in the works.

during study hall that he heard about Stacy and Jennifer having a cat fight over Bobby because Stacy heard from Linda, who heard from Carol, who heard from Joey that Jennifer wanted to go to the Prom with Bobby.

Report Offensive CommentIm going to have to draw a detailed Visio diagram to map and figure out who told who what....where it was first heard...and whether or not ANYONE who would actually be involved had anything to do with this rumor.

Report Offensive Commentthe bengals dont need a starting CB. one of the few things they have 2 solid starters at. pure pipe dream they entertain a trade that only benefits one team.

Report Offensive CommentThe Bengals could definitely use a pro bowl CB. What they have are anything from solid as last years production shows but the bengals are not known for making good decision. They will go down with the sinking ship before throwing out a life boat.
But there is no doubt in my mind that Eagles will trade for a big name WO.

Report Offensive Commentphillydave, at least you are consistent. you know absolutely nothing about the bengals but what you read from others on here. joesph and hall are fine and could start for most teams in the nfl.
so you really think trading a pro-bowl wr for a guy that would be your number 3 cb is a "good decision."
thats an interesting opinion.

Report Offensive CommentWith the Eagles having two first round picks next year, they have sufficient ammunition to trade for Roy Williams. One first round pick, Lito Sheppard and possibly a lower draft choice or player would be fair trade for Williams.
INCSOC | 05/12/08, 10:49 AM
Report Offensive CommentI cannot see Lito Sheppard on this roster at the start of the pre-season. Roy Williams would be the perfect fit for this offense.....I hate Chad Johnson....Why bring in TO's little brother? Whiner....Complainer...a "Me First" player....screw that....get a receiver in here that wants to be part of a team....and win.
Lito and OUR 1st Rd'er for Williams....Keep Carolina's....could be a better pick...

Report Offensive Commentphlyfan36, you are certainly entitled to believe that. i'll hold to the belief that brown has 0 interest in trading chad for lito.
come opening day, if lito isn't in orange & black, hall & joseph are still the starters, we'll know what is fact. and what is opinion.

I believe even a team as dump as the bengals would put a pro bowl cb in to start over what they currently have. Where you get that lito is a 3 is absurd but I guess that speaks to the knowledge of a bengals fan.

Your probably right. Bengals are not smart enough to make that decision. They are intent on their ship sinking without throwing out a life boat to prove a point. Nice way to conduct business. Go luck with a decent offense on NO defense.

Report Offensive CommentMost teams are scared of the fact that Lito hasn't played a full season in 4 years....PLUS he wants more money....
Grant it....When healthy....Lito could be the #1 on most teams in the NFL....but that's the problem....he hasn't been healthy...
Why would Detroit pass up the chance of holding 2 #1's next season? Especially 2 high #1's....Look what Kansas City did with their 2 #1's....it was a damn good draft for them....
Then again the Eagles should see what comes out in the next draft before parting with that extra 1st.....who knows where they'll be drafting....

You can not tell me you believe that any one of those WR's taken in the first 3 rounds is as good as Roy Williams?
