Agent Lamont Smith contacted the Dolphins about Philadelphia cornerback Lito Sheppard, who wants a trade, ``but it didn't work out. They had other priorities.''

As long as Sheppard wants a new contract as one of the top Corners in the League it will be hard to trade him to anybody for anything..

May 14, 2008  07:10 AM ET

Agreed

May 14, 2008  07:59 AM ET

as did 30 other teams.

May 14, 2008  08:29 AM ET

Unfortunately for him, he will be viewed as a product of the system in Philadelphia. He is a good corner and probably does deserve more but he signed the contract he has and must respect it.
As for this new twist, I think the Dolphins want to get younger. Lito is not that old but his history of injuries and his wanting a new contract make him less appealling.

Something will probably shake out but I'm ok with having 3 pro bowl corners on the team. And it looks like the agent is doing all the dealing.

The NFC Beast is going to have another tough season and three teams in the playoffs again. I'm just glad Dallas has CB Depth now.

May 14, 2008  09:41 AM ET

NFC Beast. Creative.

Lito would be better suited as a nickel corner considering the less time on the field, the less chance he has to get injured. He's out of his mind with these contract demands.

May 14, 2008  11:39 AM ET

You know what would take of all of this contract demands....Set Salaries....QB get this much with this much experience....DB get this much with this much experience

With the Eagles yes. He needs to prove he can stay healthy for a full year first then maybe he can get that contract he's looking for.

May 14, 2008  01:48 PM ET

They should pass on McNabb too.

Kewl Teaz | 05/14/08, 12:05 PM

No. McNabb does the passing. He's the QB.

i agree, he is at best a 8-12 qb

Eagles screwed theresevles, they wanted to much for Lito. They would have easily got a second or third rd pk for him. Now look at them! They are getting what they deserve and I hope that he puts them in the RED with their budget! I hate the Eagles! Go Cowboys!

May 14, 2008  03:01 PM ET

Eagles were last good when they had TO. Maybe what TO said about Donovan in the Superbowl was true?

How so? Lito is still a good bargaining chip and if they don't trade him then they have the best secondary in the league. Doubt they'll go in the red over it since Lito is signed till 2011. It's apparent you hate the Eagles, probably has something to do with the way they taken to dallas for so long.

May 14, 2008  03:14 PM ET

What did he say about Donovan that was true? TO is sitting in dallas right now wishing he could go back and play with Donovan again. He knows that Donovan helped his numbers big time and vice versa. TO will just not reach that level again.

May 14, 2008  05:24 PM ET

He's got a good head on his shoulders, he showed up to camp, he's healthy, and he's a solid db... i don't mind having him around this season... sucks for him though.

May 14, 2008  06:13 PM ET

Philthy Dave,

Quit being so simple. Have you watched any Dallas games last year. TO is tickled pink to have Romo throwing him the ball, and he actually defends him, which he's never defended a QB of his before.

Do you really think he would rather have the "Not so Accurate" Donovan McFlabb throwing him the ball. I'm sure TO is laughing every sunday while McFlabb is overthrowing Curtis and Brown. I think you need to watch some other teams play on sunday other than the Eagles.

Look at the big picture. You kind of sound retarded. TO has already reached a higher level. He's going to smoke the Eagles like a big fat Philly Blunt. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

We will trade you a video camera and Matt Walsh for Lito Sheppard.
The Pats - trade subject to the approval of King Specter!!!
