Will Biffle replace Stewart?

Posted: Wednesday May 14, 2008 05:37AM ET

Greg Biffle certainly didn't sound like a guy committed to Roush Fenway Racing when he blasted the faulty equipment that led to his last-place finish at Darlington Raceway. The rant was, of course, based on frustration. He seemed to have the car to beat, but instead left the track still searching for his first win of the season. Still, it was clear "The Biff" was sending a message with his biting remarks. In fact, Biffle might finally be ready to test the free-agent market. If that's indeed the case, the first place Biffle should look is Tony Stewart's seat at Joe Gibbs Racing.

My God, Biffle this, and Biffle that. "Tomorrow on the T&R NASCAR thread, Greg Biffle reveals his favorite color and talks about his dream date!"

He is married......maybe his dream ride, (wheels stay on).

Hoping Tony does not leave Gibbs but if he does, I think Biffle would be a great replacement. Thought he might be posturing with Roush Sat. night about lousy equipment but maybe he is ready to go free agent. Time will tell.

JGR would be the ones losing on that deal! The Biff is no where near Tony as far as driving and never will be!

C'mon Hooah, at least there are no newsless Junior stories today.

Report Offensive Comment

I hope Biff does NOT go to JGR...he does not fit into that group...and that is a compliment to Biff (but not an insult to JGR, even htough it could appear as one)....just saying too different.

Little E; are you saying oil and water don't mix? In Nascar all things are possible. I think Biffle is a Gibbs clone and he would fit in there. He could run the anger management classes for KB. LOL

Report Offensive Comment

JK...I disagree.....assuming this happens when Tony is still there, you have 3 volatile (and very good) drivers......I just don't see Greg doing well there......this has nothing to do with Toyo....Greg is married, quieter, just more mature and in a different place mentally than the three single "personality" guys at JGR.......IMHO, it would be bad for him....he would get smothered there.

OR, he could be the sanity and glue that binds them all together. He is a good driver, and JGR has obviously learned to open the pocketbook for parts and accessories...

Report Offensive Comment

Little E; in my first post I said if Tony leaves Gibbs that Biffle would be a good replacement. I don't think he would fit with the three musketeers that are there now. Tony jumps ship, then Biff fits, Denny is close to mellowing and Biff would take KB to school on weeknights. LOL

Funny jk.....I think a few fans dont give his driving much respect...just two years ago he was a terror, last year was all HMS, this year Toyota and Edwards...its still early though.

Report Offensive Comment

JK...I was looking at it as Biff being the 4th that JGR is rumoured to want..... Biff and Denny, no problem......Biff and KB.....not so sure.

Don't be surprised if Smoke bails out of GJR -- he has made it clear he was not a happy camper when the Japanese bought Gibbs. Smoke has also said much of his success in racing has been directly attributed to Chevy. He will find another Chevy team or start one of his own -- take that to the bank!

Jackman -- have to agree again ... JGR needs a "stable" driver with talent. Biff fits that mold. After all, the Rouschcateres let Martin get away, he climbs in a Chevy and runs up front for DEI...go fiqure

Great Taz....you agreed with me while I was attacking you on the other page....lol

Attacks are fun -- you know where the bad guys (sic) are!! HeHe

earntaz88 roush did not let martin get away. ........roush told martin in 2007 he could not accomadate him for 20 races due to nascar rules................
martin drove a few races in what was then the busch series for roush and he drove a few for hendricks in the 5 car....................mark martin has my respect
he is one of the all time greats

I don't care where Greg goes, I hope he wins and makes a good deal for himself even if it means staying where he is.
