Michigan chasing WR recruit

Marshall, Michigan and N.C. State are the most recent programs to jump on the Jamal Patterson recruiting bandwagon. Scholarship offers from these three programs this month has pushed the 6-foot-2, 188-pound Henry County receiver's offer count past 40. Patterson said he plans to give the Michigan offer strong consideration.

This wasn't news when the other 40 programs offered him a scholarship but it is news when Michigan does it.

This article is nothing more than bait for all of the Michigan posters on Fannation. I think Fannation should be renamed to Michiganation.

NWPa, you are right. Might be due to the fact that RR is a target right now.

As for trying to land this kid. Good luck to Michigan. It's going to be tough for them to lure this kid up to A2. The first step is to get him up to A2. If he does come up, then UM will have a chance after he visits with Mighty Mike Barwis and he sees him do his medicine ball trick (no snake oil involved).

Agree to NWPA to a fault. I'm not sure this guy's going to Michigan though. It might be too far from home.

May 14, 2008  12:14 PM ET

When I take over the world Fannation WILL be called Michigannation.

May 14, 2008  12:38 PM ET

It will be just like another top recruit. Michigan fans will beg for him to come then say he is garbage when he decides to go somewhere else. Long live the Buckeye rule in the big ten.

Just a ploy to misdirect the attention away from the hot water Coach Rod is treading in back in West Virginia right now.

May 14, 2008  02:48 PM ET

RR is trash and should be ran out on a rail after that SOB is tared and feather. What gull that SOB did gaven #1 to a DB, whats next changeing the helmet or the schools colors to hot pink and white.

NWPA great idea. Come to Michigan son, we have hot chicks, good football, and when you graduate, you can boss around Ohio State grads..

May 14, 2008  04:48 PM ET

Hail,

When did UM get hot chicks? They surely were not there when I was there.

May 14, 2008  05:36 PM ET

RE hot chicks at Michigan
Warden: they were there. Both of them.

Well at least RR is chasing players now instead of court dates of lately!

May 14, 2008  10:37 PM ET

Does Michigan have any pass plays?

They seem to come out on weekends after your first few beers after a long week.

Apparently it takes two OSU degrees to work at the same place as someone with one Michigan degree?

May 15, 2008  12:07 PM ET

I don't think this is big news, they always recruit and land pretty good receivers at UM, I guess they are checking to see if RR can make it happen. I am not a Michigan fan, but they will be fine in recruiting. It might be too cold for the youngster, but who knows what kids are thinking about today.

Michigan will beat OSU this year in the shoe.
