Strahan won't reveal '09 plans
Posted: Thursday May 15, 2008 06:33AM ET
Michael Strahan still hasn't made up his mind about whether he is going to play next year, but some of his teammates are trying to do it for him. "I think the guys want me to come back," Strahan said. "Osi called me out of the blue two days ago." Strahan's fellow defensive lineman Osi Umenyiora has his work cut out for him, since this is the second year in a row that the veteran has toyed with the idea of retirement - and this time he has a Super Bowl title to complete his career resume. Last night, Strahan reiterated his stance that he has a pretty good idea of what he was going to do, but that he isn't ready to let anyone know.

We are all on pins and needles waiting for what "Bret" Strahan will decide. I personally have gathered my family around the TV in a 24 hour vigil ESPN watch.

Report Offensive CommentI'm thinking the Giants might be more interested in knowing his '08 plans before his '09 plans.

Better than the TMZ crap we get about Romo and Jessica. At least this is football-related.
He will be back. Strahan just loves seeing his name in the media. If he announces he will be back he won't see his name until August when its "Will Strahan show up at camp?"
Like last season he will keep waiting into training camp. Then mid-camp he will announce he will be back. And with a raise.

That's because it's not a good idea to tell the media you plan to put a hit on the former Mrs. Strahan to cut your losses!

Report Offensive CommentJackmanrob, your avatar is hilarious! Strahan's act is getting like his pal Favre's was. Tiring. He seems to be trying to hold the team hostage or something. Someone needs to tell him the NFL and the Giants will move on without him. The biggest retirement in recent Giants history was LT's. We got over it and we'll get over his.

Report Offensive CommentHe's not coming back, that would be stupid. He's going to go out with his sb ring. Why come back and retire after a losing season?

Report Offensive CommentBx I would say Starhan is worse than Favre. Favre only took this long once. Strahan went into the pre-season, which never did, and pass the draft twice.

Report Offensive CommentGo out on top. Strahan's got nothing left to prove. I don't believe the G-Men will go back to back, so better to leave after a W in the Bowl than losing in the playoffs.
