Ducks owner accused of fraud
Ducks owner Henry Samueli is accused of fraud in a long-playing scheme, news that might ring a bell for anyone who watched Bruce McNall bamboozle banks and plunder the Kings' treasury before he was forced to sell up and spend four years making wallets in federal correctional facilities. Although Samueli on Wednesday resigned as chairman and chief technology officer of Broadcom Corp., the chip-making company he co-founded, the NHL has not asked the Corona del Mar resident to step aside as owner of the team that won the Stanley Cup 11 months ago. Nor has the league told him to sell his stake in the Ducks or the management contract for the Honda Center.

Will this allow Burke to find a way out of his contract? I don't see how but stranger things have happened.

Burke is the one that should be accused of fraud. Hes not going to sign an extension forcing the Ducks owners to can him so he can go to Toronto instead of having a cloud over their season. No backroom discussions here,,,nope,,,no way.

I expect the league to keep a close eye on this one. It's all civil litigation right now so there's nothing the NHL can do but watch and make sure Samueli doesn't get convicted of a crime.
The last thing the NHL needs is another one of it's owners spending time in jail. It's quite amusing actually, if you look at the NFL it's their players that go to jail, in the NHL it's the owners.

Ho hum! Another day in the history of pro sports! Unfortunately, it's an NHL team this time.

There's his excuse for leaving. I think God wants the Leafs to succeed as well.

Hahaha...bostongm...That reminds me...Jesus was walking across a pond of water to line up a 7 iron...some guy watching says...Who does that guy think he is, Jesus?
The guy playing with Jesus says...No, he thinks he's Tiger Woods.
Burke may want to start crossing that pond quickly and get some distance before the perverbial s--t hits the fan....
