Former Lions running back Kevin Jones visited with the AFC champion Patriots last week, according to the NFL Network. Jones is said to be further along from his knee injury than he was at this time last year from his foot injury.

Hey. the kid went to Virginia Tech and then the Lions. He needs a break, an offensive line to allow him to do his thing. Go back to the days when he was recruited out of high school. His dad played in the Pros, right, with the Eagles, right. maybe he'll make it with hard work.

Can anyone blame him for wanting to play for a team that is always in the mix for the Super Bowl? Maybe this sounds sorta bad, but if I were a free agent, I'd be going for teams like the Colts and Pats over just about any team in the league.

He's shown glimpses here and there. He is injury prone, though. But, you never know.

If he's healthy, he's a pretty good running back. I was kind of shocked when Detroit released him.
