Lineman commits to Miami

Posted: Friday May 16, 2008 06:06AM ET

Miami added a sixth oral commitment to its 2009 football class in Fleming Island High athlete Cory White. White, a 6-5, 235-pound junior, could end up playing offensive tackle or tight end, according to Fleming offensive coordinator Derrick Chipoletti, who said White was timed running the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds. White played left tackle last season for the Golden Eagles, a Class 3A team near Jacksonville.

It's Not!

Hurricane warning; it may hit the ACC as early as 2009

Report Offensive Comment

it doesnt matter all miami players are just hardened criminals

Report Offensive Comment

If he's going to play OT, he's going to have to bulk up BIG TIME. 235 is light for OT. He needs to talk to Vernon hGholston about how to bulk up properly.

pwronk01....u say that with a pic of devin hester as your avatar?? give me a break..u think illinois is not recruiting this guy??

Report Offensive Comment

This guy was not very highly regarded at all. UF wouldn't even give him the time of day.

Report Offensive Comment

pwronk youre an idiot...gatorbean, get off youre high horse. Miami finished with a higher recruiting class this past year, and there are players in every recruiting class on every team that are seen as diamonds in the rough. save teabag the trip and have him start preaching to the rest of the team.

Report Offensive Comment

hey canesfan....seems its alway u and i coming to the rescue to save are canes...why everybody have a smart **** comment?? GO CANES!!

Report Offensive Comment

offensive tackle at 235 lbs? are you kidding me?
it ok tho cuz the U's coaching staff will readily inject this kid with somethin to make him big and angry

Report Offensive Comment

What they inject is called pride and committment. Watch one of their off-season workouts and you'll know that. UM's been recruiting D-linemen to play O-line for the last 25 years. This guy, as a junior in HS, is no different than 80% of their O-Line recruits.

I am not a Miami Hurricane fan, but I love how Shannon is restoring there program with class. I mean, it looks good, at least from the outside that is. The Convicts are back. When I say Convict, that is respect from the 80s, it seems that he can control his talent base coming in to the University. It reminds me of Jimmy Johnson, the stern, but agressive looks when you see him coaching. All he needs now is consistent QB play and he will be ok. It will be nice to see them battle VT in the future.

Good pickup for the Canes.

Shannon is a great recruiter.

usc trojan..sorry we cant just buy top talent, we're forced to take players that work hard and are dedicated..but good luck when those sanctions come

Report Offensive Comment

couldnt agree with you more browardcane..but its good to see there are people like LSUDYNASTY and Ghostrider that are still living in the 80s, and are comfortable enough with their teams that they can compliment another

Report Offensive Comment

ARENT still living in the 80s***

Report Offensive Comment

we still are really 2 yrs away but next yr should be interesting

Report Offensive Comment

At 235 he has some growing to do if he wants to play the O Line. He needs to grow at least 40 pounds.

Report Offensive Comment

To all The U haters...the swagger is back! As far as the criminal comments...what about Reggie Bush taking cash and if you don't think that college players are taking a few bucks here or there to survive ( that is every program) than you need to wake up!! RIP Sean Taylor and Brian Pata!!!
