Eto'o in Spurs should be interesting. Ramos will definitely know how to use him, but can anyone give him a good pass? Does anyone know why he didn't want to play against Madrid last week? Cuz the crowd would have been chanting:
ETO'O CABRON, SALUDA AL CAMPEON!

Report Offensive CommentWhoever pays Barca's asking price of 40 million pounds is insane. Eto'o is worth nowhere near that and I'm doubting Spurs will be able to afford that.

Report Offensive CommentJackie_Treehorn - what the hell are you talking about? Eto's is so worth 40 million pounds and more. The man only finished 6th in scoring even after being sidelined with an injury. If that is not impressive, then I do not know what is.
Raakin | 05/17/08, 07:21 PM
Report Offensive CommentNo way, I agree with Jackie Treehorn. 40 Million is insane. David Villa is superior and his price is around 30. If Berba stays they shouldnt even try to get Sammy, and even if Berba goes, they have other fine strikers... what they is someone to give those goal scorers the ball.

There's only 3 players in the world right now worth that much scratch....Ronaldo, Kaka, and Messi.. Then add in the fact that Eto'o is 27, and has had nothing but injury problems the past 2 years. He's on the down turn of his career and will probably fetch 20 if Barca is lucky.

Report Offensive Commenthaha 40 mill for Eto'o...so that means titus bramble is easily worth 20 mill!!

Report Offensive Comment25 million would be a better price for him.
The EPL needs Tottenham and Everton to be great. Liverpool needs to be knocked off. I really don't like them at all.

Report Offensive CommentSamuel Eto's stats for the year: GP 18 | G 16 | A 3
David Vill's stats: GP 27 | G 16 | A 5
Need I say more? They scored the same amount goals except Eto managed to do it in 9 less games. Gimme a break. the man is amongst the top 5 strikers in the world. Talk about his injuries all you want (he has only had two), but when healthy, the man is unstoppable.
As for Kaka, he is overreated and will always be. He has not done anything all year. He needs to thank Arsenal for taking him out of his misery for a lackluster year. He could not even lead his team to a champions league spot. Seedorf clearly outshined him this year. Yes you heard me, old man Seedorf was the only bright spot in thier midfield.
I have come to realization that half of you know nothing about soccer.

Report Offensive CommentRaakin, Look who surrounds Eto on the field compared to how valencia's attacking talents played this year. I could score goals if i was getting service from the likes of Messi, Xavi and Iniesta. Villa is also easily in the top 5, if not top 3 strikers in the world.
And your comments about Kaka cleary prove your ignorence. He's been playing the entire season with Cronic Knee pain. Even with the pain he's had moments of brilliance in every game and in the recent weeks he has been the best player in Seria A.

Report Offensive CommentEnough with David Villa...
He's a good player, but I think there are legitimate concerns over his joining the EPL. I'm not even sure he has what it takes to play for Real Madrid.
He's different from Fernando Torres.
Torres was bound to succeed in England. He had played for a mediocre team for almost a decade but he was able to score between 15-20 goals per season, when he was surrounded by a very poor cast. He was one of the youngest captain of Atl??tico Madrid and has dealt with a great amount pressure since he was 19.
Villa on the other hand, had a different career. He never played for a great club with a lot of pressure. he came out of nowhere at zaragoza and then starred with the Murcielagos in Valencia. He hasn't had a key game with the national team but played great in a few Champions League games.
He's one of my favourite players, but I still have doubts.
Aymeric | 05/18/08, 04:28 PM
Report Offensive CommentWhat do you mean he hasnt had a key game with national team? He and Torres both scored 3 goals in the world cup, and over spains last 11 games Villa has scored 8 times i believe. And Atleti had a good squad around Torres, not an amazing squad, but they were solid. Villa is fast and strong, which is what you need to play in the PL and he has certainly proven in the last few years with both club and country to be a world class striker.

Report Offensive Commentraakin...look at the teams that Eto'o scored against and then look at the teams Villa scored against...Eto'o didn't score against 1 big team all year...on the other hand, David Villa scored against Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid...
also David Villa scored 3 goals to Eto'o's 1 in the same amount of champions league games this season...and Eto'o scored 5 goals against relegated teams...Villa 2...
so basically, there are more ways to look at the stats than just who scored how many, etc.
right now, I would take David Villa over Eto'o...but don't get me wrong, Eto'o is dangerous....

Report Offensive Commenti really disagree with what pretty much everyone is saying. i will die a barca fan, so what i am saying is out of love for my team. samuel eto'o is NOT worth 40 million pounds. first of all samuel eto'o is a locker room poison, a big crybaby. second of all, the whole david villa comparison is outrageous. if villa played with the players on barca and not valencia, he would be the top goal scorer in la liga. he doesnt have a huge ego, and known throughout spain as an inredible team player. aragones has him as the primary striker in the euro'08. you don't get top billing over fernando torres for nothing. i would kill to have villa on the fcb next season, but it will probably be guiza. i think you would be suprised how much money even second tier epl teams have to spend. the revenue from eto'o kit sales alone would be staggering. this is what teams have to do to compete in the epl. if i were the president at tott. i would get him at the asking price maybe 35 million. anybody who knows anything knows eto'o's best years are behind him. it is definitely a sellers market this year. so much elite talent will trade hands, and i'm soooo excited.
my dream transfers for barca:
lwb- dani alves
mid- david silva, frank rebery
f/st- david villa, dani guiza, benzema, adebayor, luis fabiano
