Carmelo-Nets deal unlikely

Don't expect to see Carmelo Anthony in a New Jersey Nets uniform or Nuggets assistant coach Doug Moe on the Denver bench next season. As for Anthony, a report out of New Jersey said the Nets and Nuggets had "exploratory" trade talks involving the two-time All-Star forward and teammate Marcus Camby. Given Nets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe's ties to the Nuggets, the rumor seemed natural, though without much foundation.

Wow, did Clevland luck out winning the lotto back in 03. They got King James and the Nuggest got stuck with this loser

Look- he' not a loser....he did win a title in college-
He is a top scorer in the league- that you can't teach.

He just needs to recognize that he has to play better Defense and that he might not be a 'franchise' player, rather a #2 guy.

Carmelo Anthony might of a trade because, he was born in Brooklyn which is where the Nets are moving. I just don't see how a potential Nets-Nuggets trade would help both teams.

He's not a loser on the court (except 4th quartes and defense) he's a loser in life. He's messing up his life with drugs and alcohol. And compared to Lebron James he plays second fiddle. I used to be a big anthony supporter, and still am but he needs to get his act together. Maybe a trade will do him some good.

For every Kobe there's 3 Vince Carters. Carter's a loser, 'Melo isn't that bad, at least not yet.

Report Offensive Comment

Hank - you think he is a big druggie? I really think the bad rep is unwarranted. It is odd that Denver cant get past the first round with Anthony and AI.

Report Offensive Comment

I dont think he's a big druggie but it seems like he cant see the negative consequences of his actions until its to late. Which is the exact definition of an addiction.

BB is part of the Summer Olympics right? Maybe he is saving his defense for that.

If the Pistons had taken Anthony instead of Milicic this conversation would never happen. Melo would be a perrenial All-Star, and the Pistons would have 2 more rings. He isn't surrounded by the personnel in Denver to be all he could be.

Carter is a loser, Melo is getting there. Atleast Carter had a few highlight dunks, Melo will prolly be remembered for this on-court scuffle, plus drugs and DUI violations. All Melo fans out there - It doesn't take more than a couple seasons to figure out what direction a player is headed. I'll bet a $100 with anyone, Melo will get into trouble with law again. No questions about it. When it comes to character, either you got it, or you don 't. There ain't nothing like, he'll learn. This is no 4th grader. (unless we'r talking only about playing defense)

I really liked Carmelo once upon a time, but know i think he sucks and not because his off-court problems, but he needs attention. He plays just for accolades, not to win. No one takes a Carmelo Anthony team serious. Even with the beginning of a losing season, everybody was scared of what the Heat would become with when Wade returned (but stupid Riley and sucky offense and rushing Wade messed that up).

As for off-the-court, I'm glad he's getting it out of his system. I think he will learn from his f-ups. He's now Kwame Brown. Maybe, since he'll be taken as a good player who didn't make his team better and with off-court problems, he'll get more serious and up his game to make sure he gets a big payday when his next contract signing comes up. I mean he still better than Howard who talks about smoking. Thank God for Wade and Lebron. I like Arenas and his sincerity, but he can't win the big one either plus he's a little off. Looks like Wade was the only one and don't bring up Shaq, because we're finding he did it despite Shaq (look at how Shaq messed up Phoenix...i think they would have done better keeping Marion). Wade single-handedly beat Dallas.

Looks like Wade may be the only one and what makes Wade even better is that he didn't have Iverson or even all the good players in Cleveland (Gibson, their shooting guard, even the center -- all names too hard to spell), he had an aging, worthless Shaq, who couldn't contribute. We're finding Wade won despite Shaq (look at how Shaq messed up Phoenix...i think they would have done better keeping Marion). Wade single-handedly beat Dallas.

Carmelo Anthony is not as bad all that bad. He had some troubles, who cares nowadays. You guys act like AI and Camby are angels themselves. He is still a major threat for the Nuggets and for them to trade Camby too who is one of the league's best rebounders and defensive players in the league period. Stupid trade rumors........

Sure wish the Wolves would make a deal for Melo while still retaining Jefferson, Gomes and Brewer.
