Do you even watch hockey? Osgood has been stellar all year long and throughout his career. So what if he has a great defense in front of him. You can have the best defense in the world and still lose if your goalie can't stop the puck and Ozzie has made a lot of key saves in the playoffs. If Turco is so great, why can't he win a game in Detroit? I watch hockey no matter who is playing and have seen a lot of great goalies. I don't think Turco quite falls in that category.

Why even write this article? Who asked? Why the comparison? Last time I checked, wasn't Billy Smith the last good goalie for the Islanders? Wow, they let anyone write for Dallas newspapers. Last time I checked, Osgood had 2 rings, and Turco, um, what, 2 NCAA championships. Note to the Dallas Stars, as soon as Marty actually wins a game in DETROIT, then maybe write, "Marty Turco Finally wins a game at the Joe"!!!! How about some real hockey talk, how about writing about something that actually matters. Marty has 2 good series, and now qualifies for the HALL OF FAME?? All well, like I said before, they let anyone write things in newspapers right, I mean, maybe I should apply for a job, because at times I am full of B.S.!!!! Anyway, sorry about all the rambling it seems I'm doing, but to stir the pot with things like comparing ozzie and turks, seems to me is like saying Crosby is the next Gretzky.......Just doesn't make any sense to me..........One more thing, if ozzie is as bad as this guy thinks he is, why did they sit dom?????????????????????????????

how many times is turco's name on the cup? when's the last time he won a game in the state of michigan? osgood only had the best GA average(or maybe 2nd) in th regualar season and still has the best GA in the playoffs.

I actually agree as a Detroit fan. Detroits amazing D covers a lot of sins for a goalie. I would take Turco over Ozzie... I know its not a popular thing to say given Osgoods amazing playoff run, but I agree with the columnist here...

Wishing, no matter how hard, will not make it true.

Detroit OWNS Turco. At the Joe, on real ice, even without the Mule, the Wings will light him up like a Christmas tree in game 5 (assuming the refs don't "pull the plug" again.)

Wings/Pens will make for a great finals - Marty can enjoy it from his La-Z-Boy.

Osgood isn't bad....but Turco is better. I didn't even think that was a debate. It's just the fact that the Wings are much better than the Stars.

Osgood is very good, don't get me wrong, but Turco is great and getting better every season. He's the best puckhandler in the league to boot.

Turco should have gone further last year against the 'Nucks. but he should be playing better this series. He's let in a few soft goals. Can't wait for the game later! 2 hours!

As a Wings fan I actually think Turco could be as good a goalie as Osgood. I don't think Osgood is a Hall of Fame goalie. Prior to this season he was a mediocre post-season goalie. He has spent as much time in his career as a back-up as a starter. He has been undependable the majority of his career as a playoff starter.

A good goalie works well with the team in front of him. Detroit's defense has been good this post-season, but they have not been GREAT. Osgood, this post-season has looked like a Hall of Fame goalie, covering for the D when they make mistakes, but that has not been something he has consistently done in his career.

As for the Islanders days. Put ANY GOALIE on those ISLANDER's teams Osgood was on and they would get shelled. Those teams were bad. Even the best goalie can only keep a team in a game. The goalie can't win a team games.

You explain the islanders as a contender. Would marty have made them better? No. Would anyone have made them better? no. How could marty make the wings win the cup if he cant win here? so, unless you have a clue, I wouldnt talk.....Stars win game 4 because of the refs. Thats how the stars win......Marty is a good goalie, never once did I say he wasn't, but seriously, win some at the joe, and we have a debate.....It all started because your writer called us detroit fans idiots, in all reality, there is no debate....pack your bags for a long summer......wings win in 5!!!!

um guys, ozzie isn't exactly the worst puckhandler either, i mean the guys actually scored a goal, has turco done that?, ozzie is as good as puck handler as any goalie in the nhl, now hasek on the other hand could be the worst and as far as who the better goalie is?, ozzie has always redeemed himself when ever he's gaffed in the past as stars fans should know when he let in the game winning 90 footer by jamie langenbrunner and then came back and won the series with a shut out, thats the way this guy has always played, he'll do something to tick you off and then come back and shut the door the next game and that is something turco has yet to accomplish and that is why i give my edge to osgood, he's mentally tougher!
