Astros, Oswalt disagree on injury

Here's hoping Cecil Cooper and Roy Oswalt have some time to sit down this afternoon and decide who actually said what. Not that it's going to matter all that much. The Astros may already be dealing with a loss far more serious than one lousy game. Let's cut to the chase. Oswalt walked off the mound at the end of the sixth inning Saturday night having thrown 105 pitches. More important, he had already felt a "twinge" in his right groin area. When someone, presumably pitching coach Dewey Robinson, approached him about going back out for the seventh, Oswalt said he tried to make it clear he'd had enough. "I told them I thought that was it," he said after the game. "They wanted me to go one more." In his postgame news conference with reporters, Cooper remembered the conversation differently. "He just said he thought he could go back out for the seventh," Cooper said. "We felt we could get one more out of him." Oswalt did go back out for the seventh, but threw just five more pitches before summoning the medical staff and limping off the mound.

Great move Houston.....The guy is one of the best pitchers in baseball if not the best. He probably knows when he's had enough.
You don't kill the only goose on your team laying golden eggs.

What a stupid move. The Astros may have just killed their season.

At least Bobby Cox doesn't leave em in when they are injured. What a shame, I like Oswalt....hopefully for Astros fans he isn't hurt bad. BUT Go Braves!

I recall a cop up here in Michigan telling EMS that the driver of a car crash was dead, and when the amblance crew start to check the so called dead drive was really dead. The cop told them that he would throw them in jail if they did not stop. So they did not check the drive. About 2 hours later when they starte dto remove the drive they found out that he was still alive, but died later at the hospital. So Cooper is a doctor now just like the Emmitt Township police.

Well im a Rangers fan and was glad to see him go because except for a couple of homers early he hadnt given us squat to hit.If the Astros want to treat him like crap send him to us we will be glad to have him.

LOL is their bullpen that bad? Nice smart, classy move 'Stros.

I wanted this guy on the Mets in the worst way....more than Santana. They almost got him in a three way deal with the Orioles but Baltimore pulled out at the last minute.
The Stros don't know what they have here. If they did they wouldn't be screwin with him.

You think you can go one more? No. Oswalt needs to remember he's talking to coaches. You have to use small words and speak loud and slow.

This is so stupid Oswalt is their best player they should keep him healthy and trade him to a contender for prospects and start building for the future since there not going anywhere soon

This is why the Astros have not won a World Series in forever Oswalt is their best player and they should keep him healthy and trade him to a contender for prospects and start building for the future since there not going anywhere soon
