Cops question Dolphin in dispute
Posted: Sunday May 18, 2008 08:50AM ET
Dolphins cornerback Will Allen is part of an investigation by the Davie Police Department involving a dispute over money. No charges have been filed and no arrest made, according to Lt. William Coyne. Coyne said statements have been taken from Allen and the other party involved in the alleged incident, and police are investigating to see if charges are warranted. "We have two stories regarding an incident that occurred on Friday afternoon in the parking lot of Bed, Bath & Beyond on University Drive," Coyne said. "There was a dispute over money. We are investigating the statements of both parties."

Report Offensive CommentNo doubt one dulfish player picked up the tab for some pink undies for another fishead player who then decided he wasn't going to pay because he really wanted the baby blue undies.

Report Offensive CommentALLEN DISPUTE RELATED TO GAMBLING?
Posted by Michael David Smith on May 17, 2008, 7:11 p.m. EDT
This afternoon we noted a Miami Herald report that Dolphins cornerback Will Allen had been questioned by police in connection with an accusation that he pulled a gun in what was described as ???a disagreement over money.???
The Herald report said the dispute took place in a parking lot at a Bed Bath & Beyond, and that made the whole thing sound rather silly. But the South Florida Sun-Sentinel adds a detail that could make the report quite a bit more serious in the eyes of the league office.
According to the Sun-Sentinel, WPLG-Channel 10 in Miami alleged that Allen borrowed money to pay gambling debts and pulled the gun when he was asked to repay those debts.
Police would not confirm the report, the report is not on WPLG???s web site, and Allen has not been arrested. So this may turn out to be nothing. But any time Roger Goodell sees the words ???gun??? and ???gambling??? in a story related to an NFL player, you can bet he takes it seriously.
Here we go again. Can we at least let the investigation continue before we condemn?

Report Offensive CommentHey Hank. Been in and out all morning. Got some things to do around the house. We got a new Super Target/Lowes that opened up down the road. Man I love the smell of Lowes/Home Depot early on a Sunday morning. Makes you want to do work. All the way up until I get home. Funny, not so enthusiastic after that.
I'll be popping in once in a while.

Report Offensive CommentI had an altercation in the parking lot of Bed Bath and Beyond when I asked my husband to drive me to Linen's & Things and he landed at BB&B telling me I could get 400 count Egyptian Cotton sheets there for less. I stole his wallet and ran screaming back down I-10 to Linen's and Things, and stopped in The Container Store just for good measure.
