Dunn doesn't want bit role

As Warrick Dunn came off the field at the Bucs' new training facility after an optional workout last week, it was clear that one important thing hasn't changed. He still wants to play and produce, and he has an unmistakable message for anyone who thinks the Bucs brought him here to be a spare part. "I would never consider myself a third-down back. It's not my mentality. I don't play the game that way," he said. "I don't think Coach Jon Gruden brought me here just to play on third down. He believes in me, and I just have to go out and prove it." He will get his chance.

Nobody wants a bit role. Dunn's a pro, and will do his job.

I'm sure he dosent but like I always say, you have to take what you can get :)

Warrick Dunn is a class act.

I wish the Colts would have snatched Dunn. He's a great guy.

hes a great player but for me Graham is the first running back of the NFL and the most improved last player last season by far. Graham played like Cadillac first season gets hit by 3 players and keeps going if Warrick can do that then give him the ball

What about Earnest Graham...?

I think he pretty much earned a starting role after last season.

yeah who needed him in Atlanta.. for him to run the way he did.. behind that joke of a line.. and they think he's done?? Warrick Dunn was the one guy the Falc's got rid of that was total BS.. HE was the one guy trying to keep his team together during the whole Mike Vick, Bobby SUWEEEE crap last year.
Good luck WD.. hope u run well and healthy..

think Dunn spends the year frustrated and will retire at the end. He is a classy guy so he won't do anything to show it but I think he realizes after this year that its over for him.

I think your right buckybadger!

Warrick Dunn has always gone above and beyond what was asked of him. I have no doubt that he will start at least 3 games next season.

May 18, 2008  05:36 PM ET

That's good. Dunn and Graham will be an excellent duo.

May 18, 2008  06:11 PM ET

I hope Dunn gets a shot as a full time back again. He does it the right way.
I really miss Barry Sanders though... that man was lightning out of the bottle !

dunns done

May 18, 2008  09:10 PM ET

Dunn will be a good fit here. Even if he doesn't like his role, you won't hear a peep from him. Class act all of the way.

May 19, 2008  05:51 AM ET

Well im afraid thats all your going to get Warrick, with Graham and Cadillac being rotated in the backfield. He is a class act however, and im looking forward to seeing him back at the Bucs next year.
