Milan should swoop him up

I know there's Bojan. But a kid like Bojan is rare. He's really young and unproven. He's not going to develop in the EPL. He needs to stay and develop his football IQ. I'm pretty sure Mexicans want him to stay seeing how Nery Castillo flopped at ManCity.

Don't see why he's going anywhere. Barca is clearing out space for him to play regularly next year.

May 18, 2008  06:47 PM ET

He is staying.

Barca is cleaning house and cashing in while the equity is solid. Unless Pep makes it clear he wants him and he's untouchable, he's gone.

hard to say nery castillo was a flop...he only played 6 games, got hurt and sat for the rest of the year...the kid even paid for some of his transfer...gotta admire that. true, he's not very young, but who's to say he wouldn't have done something had he not got injured?

After his hat-trick, Pep might wanna give him a shot. Depending on Barca's purchases, a loan would be an alternative. Bojan got his shot and he played well. Dos Santos needs another shot.

Dos Santos had some nice goals this past game. Wherever he plays next year, i hope we see more of that. Im not sure but I heard somewhere that Carlos Vela is finally joining Arsenal next year. That would be exciting to see.

May 19, 2008  02:41 AM ET

Yeah the C. Vela finally joining his true club Arsenal part is very old. Like last year old. He was just on a year loan with Osasuna.

May 19, 2008  02:41 AM ET

But besides that, it would be a shame if Barca let Giovani go.

May 19, 2008  07:49 AM ET

I wouldnt waste my money on this guy he is nothing....anyone can be good playing with Messi, Dinho, Deco, and so on....he can not carry a teamn he is " overhyped" and overrated" just like Adu....what has he done....get some of those white england kids they are the best

May 19, 2008  07:50 AM ET

Vela will be warming the bench for Arsenal...mark my words

May 19, 2008  07:52 AM ET

Yeah, Castillo a big flop and he at the same time lost all that money he paid out of pocket to join Man City...

Dos Santos has fought through an ankle injury the second half of this year and is scheduled for surgery this week. I have to think it was hard for anyone to crack Barcelona's line-up this year, considering how top heavy the team was. I would love for Gio to stay, but frankly, it would not upset me if he goes elsewhere. Nevertheless, it would be very short-sided and foolish for Bar??a to let him go, Why anyone would give up on an 18 year old with that much talent is beyond me.

As far as Vela, he had a great year with Osasuna, he is one his way to getting his euro passport, and Wenger had already started the work permit process. He will be back to his natural position, striker, but now has the flexibility to play on the wing.

There is no way Gio is leaving Barcelona. First, he shouldn't leave a team so good during his developmental years. Laporta is clearing house this summer to give younger players like Bojan and Dos Santos the opportunity to catalyze a new winning era in Barcelona. With Messi at the point and the two young guns up front, you have a pretty solid attacking tandem that can grow together and learn from each other in a set system. That's how championship teams are produced! Barcelona is saying goodbye to Ronnie, Deco, Zambrotta and probably Marquez, Thuram, Yaya and who knows what other players.

It's a new era in Barcelona. Let Henry stick around for one more year to tutor the young strikers, too.

New era in Barca alright BUT NOT with this dude...

Dos Santos is good but needs to learn when to pass and be more of a team player. 75% of the time when he gets the ball he thinks he is Messi and tries to dribble past 2-3 players. Not the Barca way of football there, at least Messi sees the space in front of him and knows when to take players on and when to pass.

Vela will have his work permit and will be on the bench next season for the Gunners which is great news. He will prob play on the wing in EPL games as a replacement for Rosicky and Helb so that Walcott can make the transition to a central role.

Alberto Aquilani is in talks with Arsenal now that would be a great signing. He and Cesc in the middle brilliant, Aquilani is a good tackler of the ball not as hardnosed as Flamini but he passes the ball like Pirlo and Carrick which means he can give great services to our strikers which is something Flamini couldnt do very well.

White England Kids? Why get those? They'll get lazy over the summer from being in the couch watching the Euro cup. lol hahahahahahahaha

May 19, 2008  09:50 PM ET

Naw Dos Santos isnt good... He still lacks experience.....

Dos Santos is good. He just doesn't have any playing time to demonstrate. THey only put him in the scrubs games.
