Alex Stepheson, the 6-foot-9 sophomore from North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake High, will take it slow while considering his options on where to play college basketball next season. Stepheson, a power forward, was recruited by UCLA before he chose North Carolina. it is possible Stepheson could join J'Mison Morgan, 6-9 freshman recruit Drew Gordon from San Jose Archbishop Mitty and possibly Aboya and Mbah a Moute in the frontcourt next season.

Maybe he's waiting to see if the Uni of Spoiled Children will offer a Porsche for him too?!

Can you say 4 final 4 losses in a row?

May 19, 2008  03:58 PM ET

^ last time the hoyas made it to the championship game was 1985. Last time UCLA made it to the championship game was 2005.

It's actually only been 2 final 4 losses, and 1 championship loss.

But who's counting right?

Seriously, this Stephenson kid does not warrant TWO T & R stories. It is questionable whether he merits even one...

May 20, 2008  12:19 PM ET

Oh man...FOUR Final Fours ina row would be SOOO awful, wouldn't it!?!

other schools WISH they were good enough to even sniff a Final Four

Howland will bring us that 12th Banner soon....he's got his best players yet coming into the program so this year, next year, the year after....it'll happen. And he just might make some history along the way.

What state has already honored their newest college coach with a gambling game named after him - "Keno" Davis. Take a chance !!! Come play for P.C. !!!

May 21, 2008  10:03 AM ET

Doesnt matter, I dont think this Stepheson kid will make that big of a difference. UCLA will still probably win the Pac-10, get a whole lot of hype, get rewarded a cake walk through the tourney, then get outplayed by a much better team in the Final 4. Sound familiar.....

May 21, 2008  11:54 AM ET

Like the Jayhwks had such a tough road with UNLV, Villanova, almost getting knocked out by Stephen Curry and his Davidson boys, then a UNC team that didn't even show up and a Memphis team that had the title locked up but choked at the free throw line

Enjoy your title, but know that it just means you got luckier than we did

How does Pitt let Howland get away? Pitt can't beat anybody in the NCAA tourney.

I love gross generalizations by the RockChalk in order to put down UCLA. Sure, this year we had some rather easy opponents, but this has not been a trend in our past final four/championship runs (unless you want to call last year's Kansas team a cake walk). Personally, I think paying easy opponents in the tournament serves as a distinct disadvantage deep into the tourney. Better teams give better matchups, and more complicated situations to toughen a team up for possibly a "much better team" in the Final Four. Do you really think playing Miss. Valley State pumped up our team for the challenges to come?

UCLA was probably the least covered elite programs in the country during the regular season, and was only "hyped up" on this website. We were certainly not the favorites in many people's eyes for the tournament.

You guys deserved the title, but don't get cocky and forget that its only yours because of that 3 pt prayer, and the malperformance of your opponent.

Don't count out USC as a possibility.

I dont know about getting luckier, yea we had a fairly easy road to the final 4 this year but Davidson is far better than most people think. They played like 3 top 10 teams to the final minute. The point is, we didnt choke on our cake...Unlike UCLA

In response to BruinsFTW, you guys did get a lot of hype throughout the year and most of the year it was either UNC, UCLA or KU. Most people didn't think Memphis would even make it far in the tourney. As far as being cocky that I am not, I was just stating the obvious. Dont get me wrong UCLA had a good squad but they have choked recently.

As far as stating that the only reason we won is because of a prayer is a bit overstated. We were up on Memphis by 9 at the half and the rest was back and forth. We had one bad stretch of play for 4 min that allowed Memphis to build their final lead. We beat Memphis throughout the rest of the game.
