05:48 AM ET 05.19 | Standing in the overpacked gym in Jamaica, Queens, Devin Ebanks verbally committed to West Virginia, one day after graduating from the St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Conn. really everything I want in a school." He chose the Mountaineers over Memphis, Rutgers and Texas, ending a rumor mill that started when he decommitted from Indiana nearly two months ago in the wake of the Kelvin Sampson scandal there.

Huggy Bear gettin things done. Good to see somethng positive not about Dick Fraudriguez in the press that concerns WVU!

I think it's funny that you are basing Rich, while extolling the virtues of the king of sleaze, one Bog Huggins. Bob Huggins embodies sleazy, as do many of his recruits. Like the one that tied his roommate up and tortured him, or the one that purnched a police horse. This is a man who was arrested puking drunk leaving at 17 year old recruit's house.

You stay classy West Virginia.

As a Pittsburgh fan, all I can say is uh-oh. This kid is sick. If big Joe comes back, WVU goes from a guarunteed top 8 finish in the Big East to a guarunteed top 4 finish...behind Pittsburgh, Uconn and 'Cuse, respectively!

May 19, 2008  10:49 AM ET

Bob Huggins is all about winning. If this kid can put WVU over the top, then who cares about whether he is a one and done player! The NBA should change the rules in order to prevent this until then one and done players are great ways to improve a squad!

May 19, 2008  10:50 AM ET

I think WVU will finish third behind Pitt and Uconn!

May 19, 2008  10:56 AM ET

what a team this could have been if joe alexander had stayed

May 19, 2008  11:45 AM ET

For whatever reason, Huggins is always really good at recruiting the questionable kids.

May 19, 2008  01:26 PM ET

He gets good recruits, but he will turn that basketball program into a reform school, where no one actually gets reformed, or graduates. He will win games though.

May 19, 2008  01:51 PM ET

Huggins was in a mess and K-State gave him new life.. showed no class and loyalty in the way he left. I do understand it was his dream job but clearly trashed K-State. He is however a solid coach who will win. If you want a winner and someone who will get allot out of his players; he is your man.

I do think his lack of loyalty and clearly he will bring in thugs... he will win but at a cost.

I guess that some must feel threatened by Huggs success in this first year at his University. Get used to it. Huggins is a great recruiter and a greater floor coach. If bashing him, personally, makes you feel special----have at it. We love our coach!!

May 19, 2008  02:02 PM ET

Good for you... I agree he is a solid coach but the way he treated K-State will always get issues from some sport fans. He is a winner....you can have him.

May 19, 2008  03:14 PM ET

He is a great coach. He just has no integrity. I merely was pointing out the irony in WVU fans hatred toward Rich Rodriguez and their love for Bob Huggins. You can't really make a solid argument that Huggins isn't way sleazier than Rodriguez.

May 19, 2008  04:00 PM ET

Excuse me---did Huggins refuse to pay money on a contract that he had signed???

May 19, 2008  04:12 PM ET

This kids is much better off with Huggins than he is with the most disingenious, overrated coach in the country...Tom Crean.

Devin Ebanks WILL NOT be a one and done.. If Joe Alexander pulls his name from the NBA draft and returns to WVU, the WVU squad will be a legit threat for the National Championship in March. Bob Huggins does have a questionable past but is cleaning up his act, I feel he has brought alot of the negative input from certain medias upon himself, but to continually bash his recruits is uncalled for. Devin Ebanks is an outstanding young man with unlimited potential. As for the RR and Huggins comparison? Why don't you people get over the fact Rodriguez isn't a topic at WVU anymore. Huggins is..
