Bynum faces more surgery

The Lakers avoided a Game 7 and now can wine and dine while others tussle to play them. Surgery for Andrew Bynum, however, is another matter. The team disclosed Sunday that Bynum would undergo arthroscopic surgery Wednesday on his injured left knee. A team spokesman said that the Lakers on Wednesday will release a report of the surgery and estimated timeline of Bynum's return. Bynum has been out since Jan. 13 because of a bone bruise in the knee and a subluxation of the kneecap -- a brief dislocation that popped back into place.

What happened to all of the medical "experts" that claimed that he didn't need surgery? They could have saved a lot of time by doing this much sooner.

Sad but Bynum will probably never be what he could've been. Major injuries to both knees. He might still be serviceable but that dislocated kneecap is an injury that tends to recur and cause problems forever.

wow - Doc's wait and wait........ hopefully he is able to come back like the old Bynum

Get well Big AB...we're holdin' down the fort in your absense. See ya next year.

Oh yeah, and for those doubting his recovery...take a look at Amare Stoudamire's much more devastating injury...thisnk he didn't recover fully? Bynum's not even 21 yet...he's young enough to heal completely and have a great career.

I want him as healthy as he can be for the 73 win run next season so yeah it sucks in that sense that they didn't do it earlier, at the same time, I'm glad they didn't just rush into surgery.

Already in the conference semis without him, with the #1 seed in the west without him.. I think the lakers will be just fine..

Next year, with everyone healthy, this team will dominate.

Both of you...put it on your Christmas wish list! You fear that the youth of L.A. is here and will own your Spurs from here on out!

Wise to have the surgery now and be ready for the start of next season. If it was Shaq, he would have waited until after Summer was over and would have to miss half the season to heal! Then on his return, he would need to lose the excess poundage as well!

Thats O.K. we dont even need him this year. Were sitting pretty right now.Just get healthy and take your time.Next year will be fun.

Drunk Eli's Laker Girl

Come on Laker Girl, all of th Haters have been saying this for three years now. Originality, try it. As for Byum He's going to need another year or so to get back in top form, by that time the Spurs will be reloaded and maintaining the "top team in the NBA" title.

We are avoiding the use of any physician from Texas. Either way Bynum will still be tougher than Dirk.

I guess he's only getting plastic surgery then.

JPD and TEXASMADE
Way to rip on the guy who needs a surgery in order to resume his career and support his present and future family.
You are just as classless as the Fans who were booing West when he went down in Pain (I never said it was a dirty play but a good playoff foul) But what can you expect from a SAS Fans. THey claim their team has class yet they foget that the entires fan base of their team (well most of who posts here) are clueless about sports, records, history, winning tradition and MOST OF ALL CLASS.

YOU GUYS DO NOT DESERVE A CHANCE TO PLAY GREAT ORGANIZATION LIKE LAKERS. You need to play either D-Fenders or if you are lucky enough Los Angeles other powerhouse L.A. Sparks.

Good Luck Bynum

Get well Soon

Hoffa The Great,'

I am sure that it was in their original plans but Lakers said tha it was progressing nicely. Plus once you cut into the knee you will always have a reoccuring problem. They did not want to risk that. I hope that Bynum will not turn into another Bowie. I hope it is just a minor surgery and they will not any major damage.

No wonder you are always whining, if you think me saying he's going to need another year or so to get back in top form is ripping on him. Wow you LA fans are way too sensitive. Maybe you'll need an extra long session with your therapist to recover from this post. Way to live up to the LA guy stereotype!
