One popular theory Wednesday was that Trent Green could end up in Atlanta, where the Falcons are unsure about the future of starter Michael Vick.

Does anybody think Green can lead a team to the Superbowl, fill in for a couple games maybe, that's about it.

Besides last year, Green has been overacheiving with an undertalented receiving corps except Tony G since he's been in KC, so I could see him helping any team he goes to for a year or two....that's why he needs to end up in Miami.

This is a fascinating development. It gives Carl Peterson a bargaining chip, although Green has his heart set on Miami (God knows why).

Atl will be a better fit than Mia.

I think Green is in better shape physically than most assume. We're not taking about Culpepper with his knee shattered three different ways, we're taking about a little head trama. If you tried to comeback mid season and play after that hit, you wouldn't be the same either. But Trent has always been a productive quarterback, even with subpar receivers. A training camp will be more than enough to bring him back to his old form. I think he'll be a good addition to Miami and gives them the best chance to win now. I don't think ATL is going to give up on Vick that easy, eventhough I would love to see him get cut or traded.

Green would be a good fit in Atlanta, but he'll only be a filler until Atlanta could draft/trade for the QB of their future. Remember, Green is old too.

"heart set on Miami"? top5design, what are you thinking? He was looking at Miami as a last resort. And SARGE_78, holy crap my man! You called him old while posting a photo of Bret Favre! He's a quality QB in need of more than just a TE. ATL provides, not just a decent reciever core, but he loses nothing in the TE as well. It's a win, win.

I have to agree with imntymout. SARGE_78, talking bout Green too old, but has a picture of Brent Farve up there, and he's trying to use a old one. Brent farve is as stale as a dried up plant (hint) he will just crumble into ashes when he gets hit, & I hope he gets hit HARD

Atlanta would be a good fit for him.

Green is lousy!

May 31, 2007  08:46 PM ET

Pico, why come here to embarrass yourself with such childish, uninformed statements. His numbers over the past six years speak for themselves. They are very much in line with Manning and Brady on the offensive side. The Chiefs' problem was that they did not have a defensive during those years, so it was a wasted effort. Last year he suffered a serious injury and from that you make this d.umb a.ss statement that he is lousy.

Green is a smart, experienced QB who is loved by his teammates for his calm leadership. That is what any team would want. I am concerned that Green has not fully recovered the mental speed part of his game post injury, but each passing day will help that. The only question is does he have enough passing days left before he is just too old to play.

I can tell you this, Green is to receive about $7 million this year. If he was merely to say that he was still having headaches, etc side effects based upon last year's injury, we could receive the full contract rate on injured reserves. However, Green is not taking the easy way out. He has the heart of a warrior and wants to compete, even if that means him taking a lesser contract elsewhere.

Again, Green is a class guy and a proven leader both on the field and off.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May 31, 2007  09:13 PM ET

Wont happen. Atlanta doesnt want him according to the owner.

June 1, 2007  02:04 AM ET

Atlanta should WISH they could get that lucky. Vick is a loser...

June 1, 2007  08:59 AM ET

these Vick supporters and believers of his innocence are so dumb that I think the Falcons should trade for Culpepper, give him #7 (because Vick will be suspended for life) and that way all these dumb fans will not even notice Vick is gone - they will just think he must have gotten a little slower and a little heavier...

New man law. NO PICs of Brett Farve when referring to NFL players as old, or pass their prime. The best thing for Green Bay is to start its new era without Farve. The defense is on its way, but the O is lacking as Farve is splitting time between a nursing home and the field. Green would be a good fit for any team needing veteran leadership for a year or two.
