Huizenga weighs in on Parcells-Taylor

Though Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga said this week he would be happy to talk with Jason Taylor if he wants to play elsewhere, he made clear he is not going to tell Bill Parcells how to handle the matter, and feels no need to smooth over the Taylor/Parcells relationship. Huizenga said neither Taylor nor agent Gary Wichard have called him to request a trade and he expects Taylor will play for the Dolphins next season.

Honestly... who cares anymore.

Parcells will destroy every relationship he has with any player of age on this team. He'd rather get young players to groom than allow a star player finish there careers with dignity.

I am a dolphins fan who cares if we get rid of taylor hes done great things for us but were rebuilding to get younger let the dude go.

I lost all respect for Taylor when he said in 10 years, he wanted to be remembered more for his acting than football. Thats fine after you retire, but that is just flipping the bird to your team mates. Parcells is going to bench this prima donna.

I think you missed the point of what he was saying...in 10 years he won't be on the field...he'll be in film (i guess)...if you talk to him on 5/21/2018 he wants to be known for that...I don't think it was meant to offend teammates or anything like that...just my .02 cents

Jason who? What's he won? O yeah, nothing.

The Tuna? He's the man. Turned around the Giants, Pats, Crappy Rat Fink Jets, Dallas, and now he'll do it in Miami. I'd say Billy O'Tuna has way more cred than 2-left feet JT.

Dolphins have sucked yes, but JT is the man, dude. Ask Tom Brady.

Last I checked single players dont' win Super Bowls by themselves. If so, by that rationale Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson are better QBs than Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, and even John Elway if Denver never gets Terrell Davis.

Agreed

What blows my mind is that people think Parcells can do anything to make the team better, or will stay long enough to real change completed. He did nothing in Dallas except fill slots with his favorite players, instead of the best available. He also showed his two Super Bowl championships were Bellichick's doing. The last time I, and Brady, checked, Taylor was still a force to be reckoned with. It sounds like he will not be one of Parcells' favorites and might not get to play.

May 21, 2008  04:59 PM ET

Parcells is just another ARROGANT son of a biscuit that is way way past his prime. He has burned more bridges than some countries have ever built.

The last time I checked Jason Taylor is keeping himself in what I would consider very very good shape. He isn't going about it the traditional way, but he has stated publicly he is in better shape than any previous off-season at this time.

Parcells/Dolphins complaints that he hasn't been attending off-season workouts carries no weight with me. Had he been sitting on his ARSE all off-season then they would have a complaint, but he is looking out for himself and would come into training camp in much better shape then the majority of players attending all these mini-camps.

My bet is taylor will have an excellent season in 08, and if luck is on his side it won't be for the dolphins. F dill parcells and his rediculas silent treatment tactic.
This isn't the 80s dill ! players don't fear you anymore .
Dill's gonna soak up 2 years of that big money and bail ! count on it !

Bill Parcells is, was and always will be an ( Y ) -hole.

Taylor signed a contract for big bucks with his end of the bargain being to do and give his all to the team that pays him.. The team has never failed to deliver his paycheck to him on time.....If he does not show up to play, then put him on the voluntary retired list......Play or stay home. Simple as that...

May 22, 2008  02:11 AM ET

Well Lets face it. Parcells can be a callous old Toad. He will improve the team no doubt, but many cowboys were glad to see him leave and the boys did much better after he did. He is known for a boring ball control offense and tough defense and Special teams. They can be respectable again.. but to trat a player of taylor's stature like some 4th grader who didn't do his homework is simply wrong. I think Parcells needs a good kick in the face from a few veterans tired of his audacity.

May 22, 2008  03:00 AM ET

Parcell's is all bidness, (take care of business... not bouquets) and HELL NO! he anin't gonna be down with his esteemed veteran "cuttin' the rug" on FOX instead of playin' flag football with Jake Long (and Rickey "makes everyone feel good" Williams giggling all the way to the endzone). I'm a sceptic though, I lost respect for Jason when he started pirouetting, and as far as Tuna's concerned, Taylor can start his acting career right now... oh wait, he already has.

May 22, 2008  04:28 AM ET

Parcells is overblown. Yes, it's true. He's not a magician. He had some good players with good teams that - each, were at a certain level of....rising before their "window" opened. Parcell's is about as good as Bellichuck.

May 22, 2008  11:17 AM ET

Parcells needs to let this guy go..... imagine him with jax, dallas, pitts, etc... he could take a defense to the top .... parcells is way out of his era and hasn't done anything significantly in years.... they stumbled upon tony romo and got lucky..... all that rule by fear stuff don't work anymore- players make way too much $$$
