Ogilvie helps drive tour's financials

Growing up as a hotshot junior golfer in Columbus, Ohio, Joe Ogilvie's boyhood hero, to no surprise, was one Jack Nicklaus. But Ogilvie had other ideas. Lots of ideas, actually. He freely admits that his role models were Warren Buffet and Bill Gates. Ogilvie, a 1996 graduate of Duke University in economics, started his own investment firm, Ogilvie Capital in 2007. Ogilvie is one of four Tour players, along with Stewart Cink, Brad Faxon and David Toms, to represent the rank and file on the PGA's powerful Players Advisory Committee. That committee has tackled and resolved such weighty topics as drug testing and the FedEx Cup during Ogilvie's term in office.
