Agent: Nuggets won't trade Carmelo

Don't look for Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony to be traded. Calvin Andrews, Anthony's agent, told The Denver Post that the Nuggets "informed me that they're not shopping Melo." Anthony has been a target for criticism after the Nuggets flamed out in the first round of the postseason for the fifth consecutive season. New Jersey inquired about trading for Anthony, but Andrews said chatter around the league that Melo might be moved is not accurate.

I had always thought that the Nuggets should trade Iverson before Melo.
In any case, we'll see what happens.

LA Fans, you have to feel good about that win last night. I thought your team looked great letting our "old" team go up by 20 points. I thought the way you booed your own team showed lots of class. Yes the Spurs let one slip away, but abusing the home team on their own floor I am pretty sure that the Spurs feel like they own you. Hey LA should have won that game, well rested against a team with little time to recover. Imagine what will happen when the Spurs have time to prepare.

I'm sorry, I still cannot understand booing your own team. that was pure class LA pure class

Class maybe, but it goes to show that the Spurs winning a back to back crown is like saying that Isiah Thomas is a great coach.
They can win the ring for a million times but never will they defend it.
Sorry Spurs fans at least you have won the championship more than once already.

jpd

Why don;t you write a blog about your beloved Lakers instead of posting this on every thread?

jpd.. It happens at a lot of lakers games when they stink.. the fans know we are a championship calibur team, and no one paying 6 times face value on a ticket wants to see a road team win in LA.. Plus, there were about 3 turnovers in a row..

BTW, why do the spurts flop and cry so much!?!?!?

May 22, 2008  09:58 AM ET

nonetheless, a great game!..

At the end of the game, i didnt hear much booing.. GO LAKE SHOW!

May 22, 2008  10:48 AM ET

Easy on jpd. He's in pain and isn't all there. When he comes to, he'll be the jpd we all know.

Are ya ok, jpd, are ya there, hello, how many fingers am I holding up.

That's cute, but you heard it. You will never hear SA fans booing the Spurs. I guess most of those fans thought it was American Idol. Hey Boto who won that by the way, we all know you were watching. Loser.

TD, Thank you for admitting that. Hey how long has it been since Shaq was there. That's classic that he's still on the tickets. I wonder if David will be on ours. I'll let you know if he is.

May 22, 2008  11:50 AM ET

If they trade both Iverson and Melo it will be the stupidest thing they've done in a while. Does ownership miss those 19-63 seasons?

May 22, 2008  12:33 PM ET

Sure sure

May 22, 2008  01:18 PM ET

Damn jpd, calm down. It was only game one...(of four)! You act like we nailed your old lady or something. My last Lakers ticket Feb 28 vs Portland doesn't have a picture of Shaq on it. You've been holding on to your Lakers souvenir for a long time... you closet Lakers fan you!

I thought they were booing the refs (who it seems had money on the Spurs) because they didn't call anything on your guys.

May 22, 2008  01:43 PM ET

Jpd...... wow. Hit a nerve did we? maybe your just upset because your spurs folded like a pair of two's.

May 22, 2008  02:09 PM ET

trade melo for gordon an deng

May 22, 2008  03:20 PM ET

jpd,
it is a bit tiresome to try to read diverse articles about the nba and find the same silly rant at every turn. most of the people attacking you here are here all teh time. we know, you and rj are hard for lakers.i'm big on the mavs, and texasmade drives me nuts. i abhor the spurs, and i have since i was a Rockets fan with 2 rings.
As for THIS topic, neither AI nor Melo fits the Mavs. Hllywood will tell you; Cuban, Nelson and Carlisle need to spend whatever they have on a LOW POST PRESENCE that isn't Dampier. Slashers and scorers we need not; esp. AI. Age is already a factor, with Grandpa Kidd and his cast of aging or high teammates!

May 22, 2008  04:11 PM ET

DFLefty, jpd IS NOT a LAKER FAN. I agree, the Mavs need a big man desperately. Someone to give the hard foul and can get a double-double (pts. & reb.) every night.

May 22, 2008  05:07 PM ET

JPD, remember Suns first round ? In the first two games, they lost double digit lead to you guys and ended up losing the series 4-1. I really think that it will happen again. This time, your Spurs is the victim.
