Former backup Oklahoma quarterback Keith Nichol, who announced two weeks ago that he was leaving the Sooners' program, has decided to transfer to Michigan State, according to the Grand Rapids Press. This comes as no surprise. He initially orally committed to Michigan State out of high school before changing his mind to OU. Nichol, a dual-threat QB, is from Lowell, Mich.

That's great for him. Let's hope he can be part of team that no longer chokes.

Michigan State's bowl record is better than U of M's.

So, if you want to talk about choker go look in the mirror.

And, let us take a wild guess, Mr. Warden, would you be like so many wannabes who never actually went to U of M? Kind of like a ten year old kid with a Michael Jordan tee shirt on and a poster of him in his bedroom?

U of M's days of glory ended years ago. They are not nearly as good as MSU in basketball or hockey. They only thing they have going for them is football.

A one-trick pony.

wow Jon- you seem bitter. Couldn't get into UofM?

I went to the Frozen 4 in Denver and I don't remember State being there.

Michigan State has a football team?

May 22, 2008  09:37 AM ET

Makes sense for him. He was going to commit there out of high school before he went to Oklahoma anyway.

May 22, 2008  10:03 AM ET

Did any of you hear the Michigan State radio station fan rant that came out a year or two ago after their choking loss to Notre Dame?

If not, look it up on the net. It's hilarious.

May 22, 2008  10:05 AM ET

Yeap "Moo-U" has a team. Talks a lot and chokes in the second half. So Moo-U has a better bowl record, you would to if you had a steady diet of Motor City bowls and no bowls at all for a while. Yeap, no MSU fan even though i grew up real close to E. Lansing. If it's green & white, it isn't right!

ha!

Thats a good pick for him...Had he gone to UM, he would never get on the field (especially since he has to sit out a year and that would make him have to compete with five star recruit Kevin Newsome. Sounds like little brother's got a quarterback! Good for them! Now all they need is another 99 players...

May 22, 2008  11:37 AM ET

It's sad that we are pinning our hopes on Newsome and Beaver. Let the kids get through high school first. I would have liked Nichol to commit only because he already being in college would have had a leg up on two incoming freshmen.

Anyway, like I said earlier he made a good choice. A safe one, but a good one nonetheless.

Jon,

looking at Wikipedia, here are the bowl records for Univ of Michigan and lil sister.

UM bowl record: 19-20 with a win in last bowl game against FL after 4 straight bowl losses.

MSU: ...get ready for it.......7-11 with bowl loss to BC last year. Prior bowl appearance was in 2003 with a loss to NE.

Maybe you should do a little more research before you type the garbage you type. But, I can't blame you. Lil sisters usually react on emotion than logic.

But again I will reiterate what I typed above, I hope MSU finally fields a team that can deliver because I frankly am sick of seeing them choke like some skanky adult actress in a snuff film!

J HOva,

Doesn't every team place hopes and dreams on their recruits? But I wouldn't say UM is pinning their hopes on two guys who won't be on the team for another year plus. RR and his staff are targeting kids that can run their type of offense and making sure there are enough of them should the head QB go down.

At this point, we are pinning our hopes on Threet and Feagin and Brown and Sheridan and Minor! :P

May 22, 2008  12:40 PM ET

True, Warden. I'm just not sure that we didn't need Nichol because of those kids. The more competition the better.
