Langham's unforgetable 13

It was a stunning series of golf swings, the likes of which you don't often see from mid-handicappers, let alone PGA Tour members. But Franklin Langham left observers speechless at the tee of the par-5 10th hole at last week's AT&T Classic when he hit not one, not two or three, but four balls dead left out of bounds. There was little anyone could say, especially when his fifth drive - or ninth stroke - barely stayed inbounds and forced him to just pitch out sideways. When Langham finally holed out, he had taken 13 strokes. He followed with two double bogeys and two bogeys. He was 90 strokes into his round when rain mercifully fell. At 22 over with one hole to play, Langham did not return in the morning to complete his round.

I'll bet Langham, like the rest of us, was wondering why he took up the idiotic sport.

Tough game.

It's good to see that this can happen to the pros too
