Les Jackson and Brett Hull now have three more years to shape the Stars as co-general managers. And coach Dave Tippett will be receiving a similar contract extension, possibly as early as today and almost certainly by next week. In a move Stars owner Tom Hicks endorsed during the Western Conference finals, the Stars officially lifted the "interim" designation from Jackson and Hull on Thursday. The two had held that position since Nov. 13, 2007, when they replaced Doug Armstrong, who was fired as general manager.

I heard Brett Hull's contract has an "all you can eat" allowance in it...

May 23, 2008  09:14 AM ET

I heard the it was a demand of Hull's...But the Stars.. "took it, OFF the table..." as too expensive.

He'll have to settle for tortilla chips and beer during games. They'll throw the hot salsa as a bonus!

May 23, 2008  10:50 AM ET

only when they're winning - the salsa is a performance bonus!

Its going good......for now...but you know how this is going to end up. This type of deal is doomed,long-term.

Yeah...bostongm...what do you want to bet they will find Hull with his hand in the cookie jar eventually....wait a minute...no, I did not say bet.

.....Someone kicked that team in the ****. It's a smart move to gain some stability until it's clear who's going to be dictating the future. Dallas was the only other team than the Flyers who achieved more than they were supposed to. Richards was a brilliant move and the Stars are a team to watch.

Speaking of Richards. Your Flyers have a beauty on their hands as well. I've seen articles where they state that he should be on the 2010 Olympic team. I've watched him alot this spring. He's what Team Canada is all about. Speed, grit, and character. You Philly fans should be very happy you have a player of his caliber on your team.

The article also goes on to say,he'd play with Doan and Morrow, for Canada's "grind line". That would be an awesome line.
