Florida center Marreese Speights said he is leaning toward keeping his name in next month's NBA draft and not returning to Florida for his last two seasons of eligibility. "I'd say that I'm more confident of staying in than when I first made the decision," Speights said. "Right now, I'd say it's about 70/30." Speights also said he has considered signing with an agent but has yet to do so.

If he does't get drafted can he go back to Florida. What are the rules?

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities in Gainesville have charged Chicago Bulls forward and former Florida star Joakim Noah with possession of marijuana and having an open container of alcohol.

Gainesville police spokesman Sgt. Rick Roberts says Noah was arrested around 1:50 a.m. Sunday after an officer spotted him on a sidewalk holding a plastic cup containing an amber drink, a violation of city law. During a search at the station, officers found marijuana in his pocket.

Couch - there is a deadline in the middle of june for underclassmen to withdraw from the draft and return to school if they have not signed with an agent. if speights stays in the draft and does not get drafted, he cannot return to school. he would be an unrestricted free agent and free to sign with any team, here or overseas......

May 26, 2008  11:03 AM ET

...by the way, if he stays in the draft he WILL be drafted.... probably late first round.....

May 26, 2008  02:43 PM ET

if he never signs with an agent, and he does or doesnt get drafted, he can go back to UF.

Remember Morris from Kentucky? Went in the draft, undrafted, and went back to school. He became a free agent because you can only enter draft once.

I saw noah outside my apartment building a few days before he got busted. My gf was making fun of the fact he was driving a hummer lol.

he still has time to return, he is not going to be a very high pick.

May 26, 2008  09:07 PM ET

what is funny about driving a hummer exactly?

May 26, 2008  09:12 PM ET

Hes not gonna be a very high pick because he has no heart and plays no defense. And the first time he does something wrong (foul, missed shot, etc) his game is shot, might as well bench him.

He is a stupid, just like your retarded hairy back lady. Just go to a bar.....no need to be a freak on a website. They all be on juice. Young and old, stupid and smart. He should stay in school, but guess what.....I know someone who knows a little thing or two about the details. He needs to leave school to get on with a successful life. Just give him the rock....he knows what to do with it. Go and play with the men and they will show you - who you really are. Whoops....there it is.

The lure of gold has blinded men for centuries and this is no different. We see it almost every year; the guy has a little game and thinks he pull down an easy $3 to $5 million a year playing basketball, because palying B Ball for a living has got to be easier than playing college ball, being broke and having to go to class and study. At least that is what a lot of kids believe.

Never been a fan of Noah but he can probably afford to pay two hundred buck to fill up. Maybe the Hummer was from a local dealer that loaned it to him for the weekend.

What are the chances the same officer allow Noah to get away with the same violation during his playing days

May 27, 2008  04:19 PM ET

Even if he gets drafted he won't be a starter for the team. He will sit on the bench and be lucky to get to play.

Interesting, he must be getting some positive feedback from NBA teams if he is more confident now than before. Of course, he could just be an idiot. You can never tell with these guys.
