Ex-Trojan open to walk-on role

Collin Robinson is returning to USC, and this time he's coming to talk sports instead of play them. The former Trojans shooting guard said Monday that he plans to enroll in the Annenberg School for Communication this fall and major in broadcast journalism, after spending the previous two years at Cornell. Any basketball played by the 6-foot, 170-pounder will be of the recreational variety. Rumors circulating on Internet message boards that he would attempt to walk on at USC aren't true, he said. "Academics is the focus right now, trying to get my degree and get some really good internship opportunities and good job opportunities," Robinson said. But what if Trojans Coach Tim Floyd approached Robinson about rejoining the team as a walk-on? "I would consider it. I still love the game," the 20-year-old Robinson said.

I wonder if he gets on the court before Romeo does?

May 27, 2008  11:10 AM ET

The only court time Romeo will get will be as halftime entertainment!

I agree with you there Gariboy. Romeo was a throw-in for this program for DeRozan. Nothing more, nothing less.

Will they sell the lil romeo jersey in the bookstore? God I hope so.

That would be funny. Maybe they should have Romeo bobble head dolls. Or sell his albums on campus. Dude has to make some money while he's ridin' the pine.

does he leave the bench to push c.d.s on fans in the stands? i hope he performs at halftime!

trojanfan - he was a package deal w demar derozen. he's terrible and will never play. he didnt get a scholarship offer anywhere else in the country. half the guys who play in open gym at the lyon center are better than he is.
