Del Negro on Suns coach list
There was an obvious reason Suns Assistant General Manager Vinny Del Negro had not been sitting in on interviews with candidates in Phoenix's head coaching search: He is a candidate, too. Del Negro interviewed Thursday for the job with his office partners, Suns General Manager Steve Kerr and Suns Vice President of Basketball Operations David Griffin. Knowing that Kerr's "mentality is to go with someone experienced with a veteran team," Del Negro said he would be interested in starting his coaching career as an assistant.

They couldn't get a picture of Del Negro himself for this issue? Or at least a better one of Steve Kerr? The guy looks like he having a seizure.
I say that they try to lure Paul Westhead out of his Seattle assistant-coaching position. His style resembles D'Antoni's fast-break, except that he focuses on D as well. Westhead has had winning records with NBA teams, and recently coached the Phoenix Mercury (WNBA) to a championship using the fast-break system. I think if anyone can give the Suns a chance, than it is Westhead. Then you can bring in Del Negro as an assistant.
