In a recent interview with The Press-Telegram, outspoken UFC President Dana White made clear his feelings on YouTube sensation turned MMA fighter Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson. When asked about EliteXC's upcoming national broadcast -- headlined by Slice -- White stated, "You know what would happen if he fought in the UFC? I'd put him in against (lightweight champion) BJ Penn and [Slice] would get annihilated."

Dana just needs to shut the heck up. Way to give you competitor some free PR by promoting their fighter.

I agree with Rym, no reason for Dana to comment on him. He does come across as very arrogant. I think Penn would submit Slice, but BJ could easily get knocked out as well. Kimbo does always have a punchers chance. His punches do seem to be very accurate.

Dana White is just doing what Dana White does. He speaks his mind on ANYTHING, that's why he's so entertaining. He's speaking the truth on Slice, too. Liddell summed it up when he asked people what would happen if HE took a camera on the streets and started knocking out random people. Slice isn't a real fighter, he's a street thug with no credibility who would get DOMINATED by anybody in the UFC.

I wouldn't say he would get dominated by anyone in the UFC. He's been training with Bas Ruttan for over a year now. AS far as calling him a street thug from what I've seen people called him and offered him money to fight people. It's not like he was out robbing people. I do think he has a lot to learn, but by taking on Bas as a coach he is showing that he knows he has a lot to learn and is willing to do what it takes, and from what Bas has said about him he wants to learn.

Slice is the real deal..

May 27, 2008  11:37 AM ET

I'd like to see him fight a decent fighter before making that statement DRJ. He definitely had KO power, but so do a lot of people. Anyone can knock you out if you just stand there and let them hit you.

I've seen Slice fight and he needs a lot more experience before taking on Penn. It would be a good fight but Penn would win in the end. That's no disrespect to Slice but he needs to fight some real talent.

May 27, 2008  12:05 PM ET

I agree. I do think he is better than most think but experience will always show the truth.

May 27, 2008  12:52 PM ET

He may not have the extensive training that a lot of the other fighters have but with his power I'd give him a shot against anyone. Personally I think that White wants to build up the hype against this guy so when he eventually buys out Elite there will be a huge pay per view event.

White runs his mouth too much for being the president of the best mma organization on the planet....i mean come on you're are the freaking president of your organization act like it....instead of acting like a trash talkin fan!! its this kinda stuff that makes the organization look like the WWE. you don't see david stern or roger goddell making public statements about opposing teams in other organizations. i admit white has made a huge change in the mma world, but it still has the opportunity to get just as big as some of the other sports if not bigger. so leave the trash talkin to the fans and the fighters!!!

kimbo not even close to being in penn's league but to say he'd get annihilated is a bit strong. i mean the guy outweighs him by at least 200lbs...i think and has some pretty heavy hands.....it only takes one!!

May 27, 2008  01:22 PM ET

He probably outweighs BJ by about 80 pounds at most.

May 27, 2008  01:43 PM ET

fair enough.......i think that large of weight difference will cause problems more times than not.
but i get white's point that they are just two different class of fighters(on any level); but i just think he needs to keep those comments to himself. stop acting like Vince McMahon and start acting like sports executive!!

May 27, 2008  03:05 PM ET

I think he praying that he can be as successful as McMahon. Don't get me wrong I know there's a huge difference in that MMA is actual sport, but he would love for it to become the spectacle and moneymaker that the WWE is.

I think anyone that thinks gay bj benn would win is out of there minds, kimbo would killo bj penn

May 27, 2008  03:21 PM ET

Spurs Guru: no he wouldn't, LOL!

May 27, 2008  04:00 PM ET

Kimbo has a punchers chance, but 99 times out of 100 Kimbo is tapping so his arm doesn't get broken or he doesn't go to sleep.

Kimbo Slice is the answer to ChuckNorrisFacts. I don't think some Penn will destroy Kimbo.
